Following our exceptional meal at The Bistro at Childress Vineyards, we went outside where a painting class was being held beside a grassy dance floor. The DJ was playing "Cupid Shuffle" and other songs that make those of us with little to no rhythm shake our money makers like we know what we are doing. It was a great way to work off the light spring meal featured inside the Bistro, where we had exceptional service for a party of eight women celebrating the impending marriage of our dear friend. The menu changes regularly, but the Trifecta, which is an app, entree and dessert along with two ounce pours of wines that complement each was a big winner at our table. The price and portions were ideal, and the flavors were diverse and tasty. It is also easy to go gluten-free via the notations on the menu. There is a kids's menu, but let's not bring them. Childress is a lovely place reminiscent of an Italian countryside vineyard. Bringing the kids will remind you that you aren't on vacation, but in the middle of nowhere Lexiington, NC. Don't ruin the illusion.
