Terrible place to do business. Bought a defective Christmas gift, and they will not exchange it. Once opened, they have a no refund, no exchange policy, even for defective items. It is not possible to know something is defective, without opening it. Also, very rude!

Shop anywhere else, got defective product as gift, had receipt, manager was rude about it, told me to just take up with manufacture since it was not his problem, informed me owner was never there and wouldn't speak to me anyway, never even apologized or even acted concerned, was only rude and impossible to deal with! Was by far worst treatment I've ever got from a retail store. Obvious they don't care at all about their customers and you should avoid hobbytown USA at all cost! Wish I could give them 0 stars

I recently was looking for a r/c helicopter and called hobbytown. The person that I spoke to was helpful and gave me some of the brands that they carried and what he recommended would be a good choice for my son. I was happy with my experience until I went to the manufacture's site to research the product and saw that it was cheaper there. You would think that a hobby store should be cheaper than the manufacturer, not more expensive. I thought "of course they will match the price"...so I called him back and told him the price online and asked him if he would match it and he said NO. He told me that the only prices that they match was Tower hobby.(Which we don't have here and is only online) The funny thing with that is that Hobbytown doesn't carry the same brands or models. How convenient.....You would think with the "booming" hobby business they would have tried a little harder to earn my business instead of selling products higher than the manufacturer.
