    A Very Pleasant Experience

I ate at deSha's on Tuesday 9-28-10 and very much enjoyed the food and service. I am in town with my family for the World Equestrian Games and deSha's was recommended to me by a family friend who resides in Lexington. On a budget for the week, I researched my options. Upon reading the listed reviews, I was hesitant to dine in, but my Lexington friend insisted. I am very glad I listened to her! Desha's was a wonderful experience and the value of food was well worth the price. My husband ordered the Prime Rib and sent compliments to the chef. I had the Chicken Cranberry Salad and it was delicious! My son ordered the Fish and Chips and enjoyed his meal as well. Our male server was polite, efficient, and well groomed. During our meal a female manager stopped and ask how we were doing and if we needed anything. We also enjoyed the Bourbon Bread Pudding for dessert. It was marvelous! The restaurant looked very clean and tidy, as did the restrooms. Overall, my experience at deSha's was an A+ and I believe that we will visit again before the end of our trip.

I would also like to add that you should not judge a restaurant simply by one bad review. I almost did and I would have missed out on a fantastic dining experience. I would highly reccommend deSha's to anyone.

    Your resturant Sucks

For de Sha's I personally think that all the manager there had some racial issues along with there employee's when i came in to eat. I also think that the resturant is personally over price and over rated. I tasted the chicken cordon bleu and it was awful and the sauce wasn't done completly I had to send it back and order something else. I ended up ording the prime rib with a bake potato and the bake patato wasn't cooked properly it was like it came out of the microwave and the prime rib was under cooked and very fatty. My hubsands burger was suppose to come out the table well and it was more like rare. De sha's use to be my favorite resturant in town and I'm just assuming it has been taken over by new management because the resturant was nasty and the bathrooms were horrible, i've actually been into gas station bathrooms that's been cleaner than that. There employee's weren't dressed properly there clothes need to be ironed and the men need to a little grooming around the fascial hair area. Most of all the manager leaving when were comming in was a captial B. As a manager there is no way that I would talk to my employee and threat them the way she did. I personal think she needs go back and learn communtication skills, and maybe here employee's would respect her better and enjoy there jobs. There are right and wrong ways to talk to people and she diffenly talked them in a foul manner that is totally unacceptable and I'm suprised that you have any employee's

De Sha's-Not recommended--$$$ for low quality food and service

    Provided by

First and last meal at De Sha's. Service was below average. Food was not of the quality I expect for the prices they are charging. Hot Brown was cold when received and had to send it back. Quick turn around on new Hot Brown but wasn't that good. I was highly disappointed in this restaurant. Meal for two with drinks cost $75 and we could have had better food at lower prices at almost any restaurant in Lexington. The 5 oz filet mignon that my wife ordered was not of high quality either. Probably one of the worst steaks I've tasted for $22. I won't be back.

    Not bad

    Provided by

We came for Sunday brunch but the brunch menu was just a small insert in the main menu of only about 5 dishes so most of us just ordered off the regular menu. The fried green tomatoes were good. The house cornbread wasn't bad, but not great. The decor is nice, with red tin ceilings. Service was fine. It was more casual than I had anticipated but not bad overall.

    Service Questionable

    Provided by

The food was o.k., but the service SUCKED. I spent my time watching the bartender sitting at a table chatting with her friends. I had to tap her on the shoulder to indicat that I needed a glass of water. This is without question one of the worst service experiences of my life. This isn't the first time with DeSha's!!!! Once I had my brother, his wife, and my children at DeSha's for a late dinner, and I had the SAME EXPERIENCE. It was past 10:00p when the waiter decided to stop chatting with a girl (he was sitting with) at a table and hunt up our food. The service is the worst I have seen in a world of travels, and DeSha's should be ashamed.

    Good food, bad service

    Provided by

deSha's is a good restaurant, especially for downtown business lunches. It's also well set up to serve large groups. They have a very good menu, and the food is usually very good. They have had some service problems lately - I think right now they are understaffed, esp. for the lunch crowds. But I don't remember service being quite so bad (i.e. slow, too few waiters for all the tables) a year ago. If you go at a slightly off time, the service is better but still not great. But I would say the food is worth it, and the set-up of the restaurant is interesting.
