Connections

If you care about your loved ones, do not have any association with this facility. All they care about is lining their pockets with government money and the clients are left to fend for themselves. Some clients arrive dirty and unkempt, there are various bugs throughout the entire building, there have been some outbreaks of MRSA and numerous incidents of pink-eye. Some clients don't get enough to eat; many are left alone at any one point during the day and sometimes get hurt due to lack of supervision. If a client has a significant need, it is only met if it isn't too much of a burden for management to take care of. If it requires "elbow-grease", then the problem is covered up and staff are directed to not talk about it. Connections could be a very good community resource for the intellectually challenged if the staff had more of an opportunity to advocate for the clients and their needs. Furthermore, the management team needs to realize that their practices are harmful to the clients' quality of life and staff morale.
