The service was less than expected, the waiter didn't even ask what rice, one would prefer with the entrees being ordered, leading to confusion when (another person) the server, brought some rice, but not enough rice for those who should have had it. The unsweetened tea - doesn't exist on the menu, you must order it as a flavored item, like a fruity tasting tea, or sweetened. The meal came and was always followed up by a prompt to 'move on' to the next step, from appetizer, to entree. to dessert, and here's the check. We were a 'party' and treated as if we needed to leave in time to get back to work, but it was 18:30 in the evening. The food, was okay, not bad but the hot and sour soup was a bit gravy-tasting-like, unlike some I've had at other Asian diners. ( It wasn't as heavy as what I have otherwise had, and I didn't really like it as much as a lighter soup, which I normally have. ) For a pricey restaurant, I found it leaving a bit to be desired.
This place has pretty good food and since the economy is horrible at the moment, they are inexpensive to dine at. My fiance and I eat here all the time, lunch buffet is like 6.99 a person and the dinner buffet is 12.99...we spend never over 25.00 for the dinner and like 18.00 for lunch. They have a salad bar and sushie also. The environment is clean and friendly and most quiet. I love, and I mean I love chinese food, though this place could be better, it is good for the price. But I tend to spend about $20 person at chinese places, so for a good night or lunch dinner and you dont want to spend to much to money, check this place out....they also have crab legs on dinner special and their ragoons are amazing, not to mention other food. BTW, they only have your basic drinks ie: soda, tea, water, etc...no hard alcohol, only beer. Enjoy
My husband and I went to Metropol after we received a gift certificate. We ordered appetizers, drinks, and dinner. Everything we had was amazing. Although my pesto pasta dish was good I was instantly insanely jealous of my husbands swordfish risotto. A-Mazing!! Truly, one of the best things I have ever tasted in my life. I thought the service was great. The server recommended a great wine that didn't cost an arm and a leg and was there whenever we needed them. This isn't a restaurant for an every day meal but if you are looking for a place to go for a special occasion this is a wonderful choice. For an appetizer, 2 bottles of wine, 2 entrees, and a desert it was about $150 but well worth it.
