I've eaten at Taipei many times - it's okay when you want a bit of Chinese food and don't want to spend a ton of money. Lunch specials are about $6 and include a drink. Atmosphere is strip mall basic - tile floors and basic furnishings. They do a ton of delivery and carry-out business if you'd rather spare yourself the atmosphere. Regarding food, my favorite dish here is the Hunan Chicken - tons of fresh vegetables, a fair amount of white meat chicken, and a tasty sauce. The General Tso's on the other hand, 'funny' pieces of chicken heavily breaded and fried in a sauce that a bit too sweet and sticky for me. Give it a try when you're in the neighborhood and in the mood.
I am new to the area. I love Chinese food and got Hunan Cafe of my phone. Read the reviews and almost did not order. Placed my order and was shocked at the cost.. I will gladly pay for the experience of eating that food. It was amazing. I recommend Hunan Cafe to everyone.
Was in the mood for Chinese and found this spot. It had lunch specials less than $6 and everything tasted really fresh. It's a bit tricky to find (brown brick building) but it was worth the trip.
