2000 Amberjack “ She is ready to set sail powered by twin Mercruiser 5.0 EFI's with 424 hours.” Spoke with Ian the Sales Manager. Asked if everything worked on the boat. He stated “We have rebuilt the generator all systems work.” I then told Ian that I would be having the boat surveyed, Ian stated “We don’t shy away from surveyors.” Placed a deposit on the boat. I hired an independent surveyor at $600.00 to come inspect the boat. What the surveyor found out was a total different story than what Ian had told me and advertisement stated. 1. The motor hour meters were not operational. ( how do you know how many hours are on the motors if meter is not operating) 2. The port motor was flooded by water during launch and would not start for two hours. ( surveyor charges $90 an hour for down time.) 3. Generator would shut down during motor start up. 4. RPM gauges do not work. (you cannot tell how hard the motors are working during load.) 5. Chips in gelcoat 6. A/C not working in cabin, etc.

I have bought a great utility trailer and a complete set trailer tires from gulf to lake. I am now shopping for an enclosed trailer. I should have known that GTL would have the best prices and quality of anyone selling trailers ANYWHERE in central Florida. No bait and switch, no traveling to South Georgia to get the "price", no extra options to raise the advertised price. i have gotten great deals from here twice in the past, and believe without a doubt they have the best deals on everything the sell.

I was happy with my purchase at first but then began to feel as if the purchase didnt matter that much to them. They worked with me on price and agreed to fix some minor things but when we arrived to pick up boat a couple things hadn't been done. They did fix them and we headed home. They told us over and over again how great a boat that was bottom painted is so we were happy that they included this feature. However upon closer inspection the fish/depth finder that they promoted as another add on extra with the boat was not working due to the oversight (laziness) of the paint tech. He had painted over the transducer. I called GTL and asked them to rectify it and their response was we aren't in the business to loose money. I figured a 90.00 purchase to make a customer happy and fix their mistake would be worth it to them. oh well. Would have been a 4 star rating.

Be careful when buying a trailer at Gulf to Lake. I purchased a trailer and the first time I used it to pull my motorcycles with it the fenders hit the tires. We did bring it back to Gulf to Lake and they fixed what turned out to be a factory quality problem (They put the wrong fenders on). After the repairs I picked up the trailer and brought it home… I then found a dent on the trailer the same day. I called Gulf to Lake and it took them 3 days to get back to me. Unfortunately for me they ask their staff if anyone dented my trailer. I’ll give you 3 guesses what they said! With no way to prove it I don’t have a leg to stand on. So here is your warning if you deal with a business like Gulf to Lake. Take pictures of your property and document everything. Some businesses care about customer some don’t you decide.
