I have rented with Enterprise for years and many weeks even this year through my corporate contracts. When I can, I try to use my local store. Even though this rental was made by our corporate travel agency, I was asked to supply a utility bill if I wanted to use my debit card. This has NEVER been requested previously. Point of fact I pay all my utility bills on-line. When I offered to show a cell phone bill on my phone, I was told this was unacceptable. I was able to use my debit card for this rental but was warned that it would not be accepted with out a bill to prove my residence. Enterprise has never asked this before, none of the competition has asked this of me before I can use a debit card. Bottom line, if this policy is not changed for business customers like myself, I will take my business somewhere else and recommend my direct reports to do the same even if they are renting out of town.
