One afternoon I was running extremely late from work after having worked an 11 hour day. I called 10 minutes ahead of time to let them know I was a little bit late, but would be there shortly. I arrived at 612 PM and all of the lights were off and no one would answer my phone call.
No where in any policy they have posted do they state that if you are even a few minutes late they will keep your dog overnight. I could understand if this was a published rule, or if one made a habit of not showing up on time, but for one occurrence of being 12 minutes late for them to keep my dog with no warning and charge me $30 is ridiculous!
Apart from them stealing my dog, their facilities are only mediocre. The staff doesn't give them much attention or keep them moving and active. Every time I walk in, all the dogs are just laying around on the coaches. Not only has that affected my training at home where I try to keep her OFF the couches, but it defeats the purpose of my taking her to day care...to keep her exercised and wear her out. The facilities outside are minimalistic, which is probably why I have never once seen any dogs outside, they'd much rather sleep on the couches!
Another thing that worries me is they have no certified veterinary staff on hand. They are bound to be accidents with that many dogs running around, but no one to take care of the dogs when it does. My dog has already come back with a 2 inch cut on her head, which they claimed was "there all day." It wasn't there when I dropped her off so that means she had an open wound all day long with no care! And that's just a small cut, I'd be worried how they would try to pawn off a broken leg!
Overall my experiences are a bad with Ruffledale, there are certainly much better doggy day care places around. They prices are steep for what little they offer in the way of care and customer service.
