My daughter is in her 2nd year there and it has helped her immensely. They are not a traditional school (my daughter finished HS and will get her diploma anytime after Gateway, whether she finishes all 3 years, or drops out today). They are about teaching life skills (cooking, shopping, money management, bargain hunting, arts & crafts, health, etc). They are open M-F 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The staff I have had to talk to always care about the kids and what is going on. The school itself could use some upkeep but the school district won't do that. There is no central heat or air in the auditorium and most of the classes are still with window units even though we voted to have central heat and air in every school. But that is a school board issue.
