I recently had a problem with my 2006 Hyundai Sonata. The 2005-2007 models had a recall on the "Stop Lamp Switch", and I got an error code (via O'Reilly Auto Parts) that corresponded to that same problem. Rich and the guys at Westside 66 have been taking care of my parents cars and my cars for over a decade now, but since this was part of a recall, I took my car to the Hyundai dealership here in town. Turns out that part had already been replaced in 2010 and was no longer under the free replacement policy. Since I was already at the dealership I had them replace the part to get me on my way. The next day the check engine light came back on and my cruise control stopped working. I called the dealership and they told me they would take a look at it. For $105 an hour. Even though they already missed what it was the last time I went there. I called Westside 66 to see if Rich had any sage advice and he told me to come in so he could take a look at it. I came in, the SAME day, he looked at the code, and within 15 minutes figured out that the problem was a shorted tail light bulb. He replaced the bulb and had me on my way in no time. When I asked him what I owed him, he said "you can have the bulb, I like little challenges like these". If you're new to town and are looking for a mechanic's shop that doesn't pull your leg with unnecessary repairs and the like, this is the shop you have been looking for. You just don't see service like this anymore.

I wrote had an over the top service experience from Rich @ Westside 66 earlier this year. It's month's later and as it turns out the replacement alternator was defective, however, the car needs service in the Chicago area, obviously far away from Lawrence, Kansas. I contacted Rich again, to see if there is a warranty. He looks into it and calls back immediately to advise me what to next with all the appropriate details. Wow!! Thank you Westside 66. I then call NAPA and they are very pleasant and helpful to coordinate the work and cover the warranty to the Chicago area auto service shop. This is exactly how one hopes things will go when there's a problem. Thank you NAPA. It is challenging to find an honest and trustworthy auto repair shop locally. If you are in need of this service in Lawrence, Kansas - please call Westside 66. I think you'll be happy with how you will be treated and their care in taking an interest in solving your car problems.
My out of state college age daughter needed help with her Honda Civic. We did'nt know where to take her car for honest, reliable, fair, & reasonable service. A friend recommended Rich @ Westside 66. This was the best overall auto repair experience I've had in over 30 years. Rich and his team at Westside 66, they treated her with respect & care like no other. The problem was not an easy one to fix and they did everything and then some to make it right. I highly recommend you consider taking your vehicle for repair to Westside 66. Mike
