I think that this office needs an entire overhaul. You need people that actually care about their patients and don't just grade them like they are cattle. I was prescribed Calcitrol and other medicine by Joanne Garcia, Sodium Benzoate by a woman named Sandy, I think that was her name, this was last year in April after I got back from SF for a pre-evaluation for a transplant. I took the SB, 2 grams of it, and i started to smell metal coming out of my nose and then I passed out for about 3 hours and i thought that i was never going to wake up. I never took it again and I wasted money on this "compound only" drug for what? So I can be scared to death, have no one at my side to console me and tell me that I was going to be alright. I hate to even have to write to you but it's the truth. Now I need a refill just for the Calcitrol .25 micrograms. I never took the anti-depressant that she(Garcia) prescribed me and also some other drugs. I still have them but they are probably expired. What a waste, especially in today's economy. So I talked to my pharmacy and they want to fax Garcia and she's not there. As a matter of fact I was told by the women at my GI doctor's office that the people in Gish's office in Vegas are impossible to work with and that you lose folders and lie to patients about faxing information to you while patients wait. That happened to me the very first time I came in to see Joanne Garcia. I was told that Robin had faxed for my lab test results while I was in the waiting room. Isn't that a little too late? I'm already there, completely stressed out since I haven't found out about my last biopsy and then the results never came so that appointment was a waste of my time. I ended up going to the hospital that I had my tests done at and picked up the medical reports myself. I'm not always able to do those type of things since I'm sick most of the time. I didn't realize that Robin was lying to me about faxing the results to Garcia until some great office workers at my regular GI doctor's office said that they do that very often since they are so unorganized and 2 of the ladies spoke broken, really broken English. Their office used to be right underneath them on Maryland Parkway and they would call down to Nemec's office for people's files and other junk that they should be on top of. I got your flier saying that Joanne Garcia was gone, yea! and you had a new woman there and also that Dr. Gish and Wakil would be coming in to see patients twice a month. I'd be amazed if i ever met Dr. Robert Gish! This is no joke, I have end stage liver disease from Hep-C and I need some confidence when it comes to my doctors. Nevada needs help for liver patients. Who has the money these days to be going back and forth to SF and energy for 2 days of medical tests? It nearly killed me the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last. Why can't we get permanent doctor's here for their team in SF. Just think they'd have a monopoly when it comes to liver specialists in this city of sin.
