RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't sign up!!!!!!!!!!
I am arguably terrible at gyms (I think I went 5 times in 1.5 years), but the contracts are unfeasible, and representatives are SO unhelpful. Not only that, but there is a "moving" clause they say will protect you if you move out-of-area. It is VOID because even if you send them all requested information and $50 cancellation check , they will disregard it and send you to collections.
I had pristine credit until these people sent me to collections (I moved to Chicago 7/13/13) and charged me $120, plus a $40 "check fee" for paying them off to take it off your credit.
Be VERY AFRAID. They are unreasonable SCAMMERS. I am waiting for a CLASS-ACTION lawsuit and will join in.
Terrible customer service from the moment I came through the door.
I was greeted by Felix, the manager with a strange look. i approached the counter and he asked for a card. i came with my brother, who is a member, who told me to give it a try. A few days prior i had talked to a representative who gave me a one day pass. I explained to Felix about this, and was rebutted with attitude about how they no longer accept one day passes. I then asked about sign up options (as he gave me dirty looks) and said he needed 22 dollars for the month and a sign up fee. I asked my brother to borrow the money and Felix continued to glare at me, discerning this I told my brother to leave with me because of the way we were being treated. As we were leaving he gave a sarcastic, arrogant "have a nice night". I will never be a member of such an awful gym with obnoxious staff. I advise others to stay away as well.
THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST! When I signed up for my contract I asked if them if I moved would I have to pay the cancelation fees, and they said NO. Almost a year later my husband lost his job, and we lost our house, and had to move back home with my parents in WA. When I called LVAC to let them know we had moved to another state and needed to end our contract they had me send in my proof of new residency in WA. A month later I get a call saying that I owe them cancelation fees. WHAT!?!?!? Their were extremely unhelpful on the phone, and borderline rude. BORDERLINE. At the end of an hour conversation, they said that we could not talk to a higher authority, we could not have a copy of our gym memebership contract sent to us, and we could not be given the name of the person who signed us up. We COULD pay the cancelation fees, and each month of monthly dues until we paid the cancelation fee.
The gym itself is nice, but if there is ANY possiblilty that you might need to cancel your contract BEWARE.
I signed a 2 year membership for myself and my minor daughter. I fullfilled my contract with no payment issues on my end. I sent an email informing them that I had fullfilled my contract and wished to cancel, they cancelled my membership, but failed to cancel my daughters membership, even though I signed the contract (due to her being a minor), because they claimed that when I sent the email I did not include her name on it as well. They continued to deduct $31.00 from my acct. which caused my acct to go into overdraft status, and continued to TRY to deduct my acct in March and April, unsuccessfully. I finally called them in May after receiving a bill for $62.00 and told then I had cancelled in Jan, I do not owe you any money and told them I better not be put in collections for their error. I called their Corp office and even agreed to meet them halfway either they pay my overdraft fee or refund me for the month of Feb. they declined, when I told then I was in the process of reporting them to the BBB (which i did), they called me back and offered to send me refund for $31.00. And that people, is the only way to get customer service and satisfacton from this company. if after reading this you still want to join that is your choice, but whatever you do PAY CASH, do not opt for auto draft from your bank acct.
