Chose downtown Fremont Experience for New Years vacation with friends. Bands were crazy loud until 2:00 a.m., but we knew that when we made reservations at Fitzgeralds. We were very happy with our stay there and the only thing we found lacking were power outlets and coffee pots in the rooms, likely because it is an older hotel. The staff was so friendly and helpful, with our MANY requests from housekeeping, to the desk clerks and the dealers, who were not so rigid and would joke with us while gambling, and they had a $2 blackjack table which was awesome. It was a great experience and we were all very happy with our stay at Fitzgeralds and we will go back there for our next visit to Vegas. We ventured down the strip one day and couldn't wait to get back to downtown area, which had everything we needed, and we even walked to the outlet mall and other sites that were close by. The Fits of Laughter show at the hotel was absolutely hilarious and I recommend it whether you stay at the hotel or not! Definitely happy with our experience at Fitzgeralds.

When I read the reviews of the Fitz, it sounded like those complaining were just grumpy. But, the place is FILTHY and DISGUSTING. I like downtown, especially compared to the crowds and noise of the strip. The Fremont Experience was a lot of fun. But, the Fitzgerald should be torn down and replaced. The room was filthy. The toilet ran constantly and backed up. The cover didn't even fit on the tank. The sink made horrific noises whenever you used it and also backed up. The bathtub, floor, and sink were horribly stained and grimy. But even given its age, the place was horribly filthy. Dirt caked in the corners of the carpet and embedded in every fiber, dust on every piece of furniture. We bought a container of Clorox wipes just to be able to use the bathroom. The day before we checked out, they didn't even bother to change out the towels, make the bed, or empty the trash. When we complained, they dumped a load of ""clean"" towels on the dirty sink. One still had makeup stains. I tried to complain to the manager, but she made it obvious that she didn't give a damn. You'd be better staying off anywhere else downtown -- next time I intend to try either Mainstreet Station or the Golden Nugget.

We always make our way to the Fitz to play blackjack when in Vegas. The atmosphere is that of 'Old' Vegas instead of the one found on the Strip. When it comes to food Limericks steakhouse is a great bargain. The food is great and the price is right for the quality. The staff in the casino and the restaurant were courteous and helpful.

To start they had me set up with three people in my room and it was only me! Then I am informed after I check in that each time I used the phone in the room I paid for, would cost me a addtional $1.00 per call or $1.00 each time I connected my pc to the internet (how cheap is this?!) Some of the elevators had air most did not, one day I had to wait for 30min on the 26th floor to get a elevator then it stopped on every floor going down (apparently this on the only one working out of 6)! The rooms are not as they appear on the travel site, my view was a lot of parking lots. Security was rude! I was trying to take a pic of a band that was playing right outside and was told by security I needed to move on ( even though I'm a guest that helps pay him!) then three minutes later I seen him allowing two females doing what he would not me! The one highlight of my stay at the Fitzgerald's was the show by Steve Connely, he made my vacxation, he didn't profess to be Elvis, but he sure could sound like him! Excellent job and his back up singer was GREAT too in her solo act!! I think this hotel needs to loose a couple of stars and then maybe they will get it together. As of now I would never stay there again, a dumpy hotel would be better, at least they treated you decent! They claim to have the loosest slots downtown, DON'T beleive them!!!

I have to say that Fitzgerald's is by far one of the best hotel's in Vegas. They are all friendly and helpful that work there. My daughter and son-in-law had their first visit to Vegas with me and we stayed here. They want to go back ASAP and stay again. I agree!! Not as much hustle and bustle as on the strip. Very relaxing atmosphere. Also while there, we had a small fire in hotel and the employees were very professional regarding everyone's safety! It was thank God no danger, but if would have been I am sure everyone would have been safe! I have stayed at other hotels, which are great also, but this is my favorite one!

We were really in a small budget on this trip, so I had to take the Fitz. At a rate of $29.00 a nigth you know you're not getting a Venetian-class room. Rooms are very simple, there were a lot of stains on the carpet and walls even on the mattress. Pray you don't have noizee neighbors next door, cause you can hear everything they say. If you're not planning on spendig much time in your room, I do recommend it. Dont forget to see the Fremont Street Experience, I think this attraction is better than the ones on the Strip.

My husband and I stayed at Fitzgeralds for our birthdays. We loved it. The employees were ultra friendly, the casino wasn't too crowded and the room was kept in great condition. The price was fantastic, and I felt the only thing missing from a bigger hotel was the location and room service!

Fitzgerald's has a welcome and friendly atmosphere you don't get on the strip. Ask for a room beginning at least the 20th floor and ask for a corner (end) room. We were facing Southeast and could see Boulder Station and Sam's Town to the east and Las Vegas Blvd as far as the eye can see. Also, the end room is quiet - far from elevators and hallway traffic. The valet parking staff is eager to serve - best in town in my opinion.

We first stayed at the Fitz in July of '02. We've stayed all over, but this was the first time we felt that we will remain loyal and stay here again. The Fitzgerald's know that it can loose you to any strip hotel/casino in a blink of an eye, therefore, they work harder at keeping your business. The casino employees are patient and want you to have a good time. You can enjoy yourself without any pressure. Bruce and the men at the craps tables are eager for you to learn and even help you out should you need a tip or two. Their rooms are comfortable, clean and if there's an issue, they attend to it immediately. This is definitely a favorite for us.

Tucked away on the second floor of the Fitzgerld's Hotel & Casino is Limerick's Steakhouse where the steaks were delicious and prepared wonderfully. The service was superb.
