took my dog to a 24hr vet located 3340 Patrick ln and when we arrived my dog just stop breathing I rushed to get her inside but the door was locked the clerk behind the desk finally got to the door to open it after banging on the door with my dog in my arms I repeatedly told her my dog has stop breathing when one of the vets took her from me and took her to the back now I'm at the front desk filling out paperwork, seemed all she was worried about was how I was gonna be paying so I asked her what amount would I need she told me anywhere from $300-$600 would be needed to be paid before we even start to resesate the vet came out twice to ask the clerk if we are gonna start to resesate it will need to be now while she still has a heart beat are you F'n kidding me I told them I don't have that kind of money on me that if can we work something out in payments I had $200 on my debit card all this time wasted because they wanted to get paid first. My dog passed shortly after tears....

I took my Bella Baby here on Christmas day after she snuck some Christmas treats from under the tree. They were very busy but everyone was nice and caring. They were able to give my little girl some medicine so i could take her home and continue celebrating Christmas with her. Thanks a ton Animal Emergency Center for keeping the grinch from ruining my holiday. You guys are the best!

My bulldog Bo started vomiting blood after he got into some turkey on Thanksgiving. My regular vet was closed due to the Holiday and their answering service referred me to this place. I called and the receptionist told me to come right in. They were very busy but everyone was so nice and calming. They were able to run some tests right away to make sure nothing serious was going on and after some treatments I was able to take Bo home. The prices were not too much more than my regular veterinarian. It was nice to be able to get my sick Bo seen on a Holiday. Thank you Animal Emergency Center!

The receptionist who has dark hair i don't know her name but she is the rudest person and should probably find a new job because someone that rude shouldn't be working around animals or people

I explained the situation to the receptionist and she said yes we can help come on in. We get there and the "vet" took two seconds to look at her and said her eye wasn't savable and they were about to close and couldn't help! WHY tell me to come in then?!?

The "vet was so rude and mean no concern for my little one! like I said took 2 seconds to look at her then said coldly," Well that eye is done for. You'll have to have it removed! We're about to close so we can't help" After my bf asked is there really nothing you can do, why were we told to come right in? the man called him a Jerk! REAL PROFESSIONAL, NOT! he needs to go sell cars or something, there's no way he CARES for any animal that comes in there! I was sick to my stomach the way they talked to and treated us!

DO NOT GO HERE^ GO to FLAMINGO PET CLINIC INSTEAD! It's right down the street and MUCH better choice!

We took our little baby to the Flamingo Pet Clinic at 7:30. They weren't open untill 8 but I saw one of the techs arrive, Jason, and explained the situation. As soon he opened the clinic, he got us in a room and gave her something for pain! The doctor arrived shortly after. Dr. Williams is beyond fantastic! This staff is definitely here for the animals! He spent time with her and even said it wasn't necessarily a total loss for the eye. They sent us home with an ointment to help the swelling of the eyelid, antibiotics and pain medicine. He needs the swelling to go down to see the eye and source of the problem. Thank God for people like Jason and Dr. Williams who truly care about the animals. It was about 40 mins from home but after the care we received today I would do it everyday if necessary! 110% A++++++

Awesome

I took my male bouvier into the ER, he was not responding after having surgery, 9 hours later. The receptionist was so comforting, and the doctor was amazing. Nothing was wrong with my guy, but, they totally made sure he was checked out, and vitals good before releasing him back to me. Love the whole place, very clean and professional. I hope I never need to go back, but it's so comforting to know that they are there.

It was a blessing to find such kind and caring people.when we needed help for our pet who had an emergency, on Christmas Day. They were professional, helpful and they outlined all the options we had to deal with our situation. Thank you for being there on a holiday and for not making us feel like we were intruding on you in our time of need.

A few months ago I had to bring my dog in because she was really ill and our regular veterinarian had no idea what was wrong with her. The male doctor I saw and the staff were extremely professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. Yes it costs a little more to bring your pet in to an emergency facility, but if they didn't exist what would one do in the middle of the night? My vet certainly wasn't getting out of bed to help me!!!! Needless to say, my dog was finally diagnosed and after a few weeks of care she is back to her old self again. A BIG THANKS TO THE WONDERFUL STAFF AT ANIMAL EMERGENCY CENTER.

Compasionate emergency care

I have a 6.7# Maltese named Bells. She is precious to me, I mean She had knee surgery 4 days ago. All was going fine. Last night she was in discomfort and by 4am she was reeling in pain. I called and ask if they would simply prescribe some medication to make her pain free for a couple of hours because she was scheduled to see the surgeon this morning anyway. They said sure. When I walked in, they ushered me into a room, brought a technician, who gently held her so as not to cause anymore pain. The Doctor came, almost immediately, to see me. The Doctor began with a desire to remove the bandage. Typically the bandage stays on the leg for 10 days. If you remove it before hand it cannot be rebandaged the same as it was after surgery. The Dr. agreed to skip removing the bandage, gave Bella some pain medication and 2 hours later we were in the Surgeons office for a consultation.

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the mood that exists in the hospital. The staff is very concerned with Bella and her condition. They were flexible as to treatment based on circumstances. I will always bring my girls (2 Maltese) to this hospital if we have an emergency again.

I have tried the others, and I will only come here for Emergency Care for my animals.

Miracles happen

Hi-

I was in disbelief after reading the last review, as I've never had a more satisfying experience at another veterinary office. The people that work at Animal Emergency Center are extremely thorough, and above all caring, both doctors and nurses. My dog was there for three days and I was told by my regular veterinarian the first day (a Friday) that he would not survive more than a few hours. Well, he made it all through the day and then was transported by an ambulance service with oxygen and a nurse to the Animal Emergency Center. He had surgery there and stayed there over the weekend. I was allowed to call and come visit as much as I wanted to and everyone was very helpful, even though they were really really busy. Yes, it was a little more expensive but i expected that it would be - this is just like having an emergency with one of my kids for me, and I know that emergency care in the middle of the night is way more expensive at an ER for humans than it is if I go see the family doctor during the day. The building and ICU was extremely well kept and clean and I was much more comfortable once I got to see where my baby would be staying. I wish my regular vet had as nice a facility as this one, with the staff too. The end of the story is - it's been three months, and my 8 year old lab mix that's supposed to be dead is playing like a puppy with my kids in the backyard right now. I hope I don't have another emergency, but I know where to go if I do, and so do all my friends and family. Thank you Animal Emergency Center!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Our three year old dog was experiencing constipation, lethargy, and tenderness in her abdomen. She'd had this problem before, and it was fixed easily enough. We took her to the Animal Emergency center, because it was Friday and our normal veterinary office couldn't see her until Monday. The doctor's assistant came in and she was a nice girl- took good care of the only animal member of our family, and told us the doctor would be with us shortly. After looking over his assistants notes, the doctor quickly looked at her rear and vaginal area, and told us that he was pretty sure it was pyometra (from the small amount of discharge he observed) and that she would need emergency surgery to be spayed. He completely disregarded the fact that we had had the same problem with her before, and had his assistant give us an estimate of how much it would cost to have our baby treated. On the low end, if she didn't have pyometra, it would cost us around 1,100. If she did have pyometra, it would've been around 3,700. We could not afford this, so against the doctor's orders, we took our dog and came home, resigning to the fact that we'd either have to find another vet, or have our dog put to sleep.

After researching pyometra and reading about how dogs who have pyometra have a foul smelling pus coming from their vaginal area, and how they drink more water (which our dog was not, she was actually drinking less) I was already pretty angry that these symptoms were not even mentioned to us. I also saw online that there is an option that doesn't require surgery, where the dog can be given hormones.

I also read that pyometra is often not caught until a later stage, after a long period of lethargy and other symptoms, and that it's much more serious when the dog is not experiencing discharge.

I was appalled that none of this was brought to my attention, and felt like the veterinary office was trying to rip me off.

Overall
Great!
