Just like the planning that went into your vacation, there is planning needed before boarding your pet. Here are some dos and don'ts to help make the process a little easier.
My wife and I adopted Lucky, our first puppy, about 3 months ago. To say we are protective parents is an understatement. Her veterinarian, her food, her toys, and even her seatbelt were only settled upon after many hours of our personal research. When the time came to find a boarding facility, I outdid even myself in my obsessive zeal to find the best Las Vegas had to offer. I wanted an establishment that was, first and foremost, safe. In my opinion, the key to safety lies in the people that staff the facility. You can have a state of the art building, but if it’s staffed with incompetent or uncaring employees, you have nothing. Second, I wanted a place where my dog could socialize in a supervised environment with other healthy dogs of similar size and temperament. Finally, I wanted to be able to watch our pup play online while I was at work or on travel. I found Camp Bow Wow online before they had even opened their Las Vegas operation. I was very impressed by the inspirational story of the young widow from Colorado who founded Camp Bow Wow and has grown the company to over 100 stores nationwide. This widespread success demonstrates to me that she has “gotten the formula down” and has worked out the kinks. The beauty of her success appears to be is in the simplicity of the company’s philosophy: a meticulously clean and safe facility staffed with exceptionally caring, experienced, and dog-loving employees. My research revealed that several local Las Vegas facilities offered open play and internet access, but no other staff impressed me as much as those at Las Vegas’ Camp Bow Wow. From the first time I walked in, I immediately knew we had found Lucky’s second home. This beautiful, brand new facility is owned and operated by Mari and Chad, a warm, charming, and ambitious young couple who left the corporate world to become local small business owners. They conducted a thorough interview of Lucky and I, and I conducted an equally thorough interview of them. After leaving Lucky there for a half day trial period, I was sold. I have brought her back for day care 2 to 3 times a week, every week since they opened. Lucky can’t wait to go back. She starts going crazy and wags her tail furiously as soon as I turn the corner onto Valley View because she knows she’s getting close to her friends. I would also leave her with Mari and Chad at Camp Bow Wow overnight with no hesitation or reservation, confident that she was not only safe and well cared for, but also that she was having the time of her life playing with her little friends. Camp Bow Wow carries my very highest recommendation and leaves me asking myself, “Why can’t the other businesses I deal with provide this level of customer service?”
Camp Bow Wow is the best daycare facility in Las Vegas!! I moved here over a year ago with my little boxer Dahlia. She is very playful but has a lot of energy and is somewhat high maintenance. With my work and school schedule, I needed to find a trustworthy place to leave her where she could play and burn off energy. I tried several daycare options the first couple months of living here but I wasn’t pleased with any of them. I felt that most staffs, or sitters, couldn’t handle my dog’s energy level. After a long day, I still ended up having to take her on a walk when we got home. I never got my “money’s worth” because the price was high and my dog was never tired upon leaving. I did some research and found Camp Bow Wow a couple months after moving here. On the first day, I was so impressed with the facilities and the experience my dog had. She was so tired when she got home that she fell asleep on the steps going up to her bedroom upstairs… which had never happened before. I have been taking her to Camp Bow Wow, weekly, now since Feb. of 2010. Dahlia loves camp so much!! She gets so excited and her tail starts wagging when we pull up, and then she drags me in there because she can’t wait to play. Most importantly, the Camp Bow Wow staff is amazing. They take the time to play with each and every dog there and can give you a full report when you come to pick up your pup. Camp Bow Wow’s service philosophy is unparalleled, and everyone there is friendly. I have no doubt that the staff loves my dog and I know that she is in great hands when I drop her off!!
I have tried several dog day care facilities in the Las Vegas valley and found the finest to be Camp Bow Wow. The staff at Camp Bow Wow loves their jobs and it shows with how they work with the dogs and fur baby parents. Camp Bow Wow did an amazing interview with my small Chihuahua Bella for 3 hours to check her temperament and socialization behavior to see how she would adapt at the Camp Bow Wow environment. The staff did a great job dealing with me as a stressed parent leaving her baby with them for the first time. No other dog day cares company worked with me like Camp Bow Wow; as Bella was dumped in with the other dogs causing her undue stress and told me to come back later. Bella now goes to Camp Bow Wow 1 – 3 days a week and she get so excited when we pull into Camp Bow Wow drive way. She has become a socialized dog always smiling and tail wagging. “A tired dog is a good dog” as they say at Camp Bow Wow and I agree. I love the fact that I can watch my fur baby on the webcam while she is at camp which is a free service. I have used the boarding program several times for Bella who gets a private cabin and can sleep with her favorite pillow and blanket. Check out Camp Bow Wow’s 401K-9 and VIP programs as you can take advantage of special discounts. Camp Bow Wow is my fur baby’s family away from home. Las Vegas premier dog day care and boarding is Camp Bow Wow; you will not be unhappy with their services. We love Camp Bow Wow, Sharon and Bella M.
I originally found this store by driving past it and saw a picture of a bird in the window, and as a bird lover it caused curiosity. I went in and Angie asked me what kind of bird I had and we chatted about parrots for a while and I was pleased to see that she had alot of different bird toys at good prices. That was 2 years ago! I go in about once a month to get a few toys for my babys and its always been a pleasure. I had to board my bird for 7 days because I was painting and flooring my house and I was SOO nervous because I never have left her with any body.I always see the birds she watches and they seem really happy so I left her with Angie and I would call to check up on her...and she was FINE! I picked her up, everything looked good, my bird was happy and I will definatly be boarding with her this year when I go on vacation! Sometimes I see people bad mouth other stores on the internet and write bad reviews for personal gain but honestly, I havent had any problems with this store. I love it. Everytime I go there the customers are happy and we leave with a smile on our faces.
The Doggie District Pet Resort is the only place that I will take my Dogs, they not only get to play outside but they can be inside as well. There is always someone in each section. They keep the same size dogs with each other so my smaller dogs don’t feel overwhelmed by the bigger dogs. Doggie District also has time set aside to make sure they eat their lunch or dinner and the great part is the have nap time. All I have to say to Cratos and Athena is daycare, they get so excited to go, when I drop them off they don’t even look back when I pick them up they are tired happy dogs. It doesn’t matter if I am leaving them for the day or overnight I know that my babies are safe and happy I never worry because I know that they are with the best and are being watch over as if they were they were their own. Thank you Austin and your staff for caring for my babies there is no other place I would ever take them; it is all because of you and you wonderful loving staff. Keely
My husband and I travel a great deal, and were looking for someplace to leave our high energy, very social dog. After much searching, I came across Doggie District, and was impressed by their facilities and the fact the fact that the boarding kennels are very large. Dogs are segregated into sizes, and are allowed to play outside during the day. What a difference from leaving him kenneled at the vet! Now, we use Doggie District exclusively, knowing that Scruffy will always be safe, secure, well cared for, and have a heck of a great time playing with his new friends. When we drop him off, he never looks back, just strains to get out to his friends in the yard. When we pick him up, he is happily exhausted....what more can one ask? We heartily recommend Doggie District to anyone who is looking for a great facility with a caring staff, and wonderful experience for their precious canine.
My dog was kicked out of 3 daycares before I brought him here...and they LOVE him! My dog is a pain in the backside, he's big, clumsy, allergic, he plays rough and he's needy...most places just didn't have the staff to handle him...Doggie District has wonderful and plentiful staff, they take great care of every dog left with them, they even take photos of your pet and email them to you when you board your pet there!! They'll do meds, special food and even cater to pet parents that are worry warts no matter how many times you've left your pet there (like me). They do discounts for multiple dogs and they'll even put them in a kennel together overnight so they're not alone. They don't mind if you call to check up on your pet numerous times a day and always remember your pets name! They're wonderful and I wouldn't board my dogs anywhere else...EVER. :)
I've been taking my dog to The Doggie District on North Rainbow for boarding when I've gone on trips, and have never been disappointed in their business. They take excellent care of the animals, provide a great "playground" for them, and are always enthusiastic about taking in the pets. I have a very high-strung dog, she can be a handful even though she's not the least bit violent. The staff gets that she's just exuberent, and they work with it. The employees are well-trained handlers, my dog has never suffered any physical injury there, mostly I think because any animals that are allowed in for daycare or boarding must be screened for compatibility or aggressive behavior before being allowed free run of the place. I feel completely confident that my dog will have a great time while there, and will not be harmed.
Camp Bow wow is Amazing!!!!!!! I moved here over a year ago with my Pitbull/ Great Dane Mix, Stanlee. I first found out about Camp Bow Wow from my sister who takes her dog there weekly. I had been to other dog daycares in other cities but had not found any that compared to the facilities, staff, and care that Camp Bow Wow provides. Many other daycares I had previously tried would never accept my dog because he looked too intimidating to other dog owners but Camp Bow Wow welcomed him with open arms. One of my favorite things about Camp Bow Wow is they are willing to accept any type of dog! Most impressive about Camp Bow Wow is the staff is by far their best asset. The whole staff is friendly, caring and great with the dogs. I strongly recommend Camp Bow Wow to all dog owners in Las Vegas.
I was nervous about boarding my dog for a month while I was out of town, but can honestly say my nerves eased after choosing Camp Bow Wow. The initial interview process was easy. My dog loved the day of daycare and I loved the fact that it was free! The staff is amazing and managed to work my dog in over the busy holiday season! While boarded, I was able to watch my pup via the facility's internet cameras. If ever there were a concern (I tend to be a worrisome puppy mommy), the staff never minded my calls or updating me on m girl. They even went as far as to emailing me pictures and updates once a week to ensure I knew how she was doing! Camp Bow Wow is, simply put, the best boarding facility/doggie daycare in the city! I highly recommend it and know that my dog will be returning in the future!
