This is one of the best NEW MEXICAN (there are very few real Mexican restaurants in New Mexico) restaurants in Las Cruces. Their free appetizers (chips and four kinds of salsa) are fantastic. The food is not too hot or too bland. Even people from Cincinnati can eat and enjoy it without getting burned with the chile. Their enchiladas are quite tasty and their huevos rancheros are cooked to perfection. My daughter enjoys their taco salad, which comes in its own tostada bowl. They will offer you some free sopaipillas after the meal. Both, the sugar coated and the plain with honey are absolutely delicious. The prices are moderate and the atmosphere is attractive.
This was my first visit to Fidencio's, a small family owned business and a great place to get Mexican food that is made with fresh ingredients. The environment is casual, very simple and humble, however it is clean, and very affordable. The #3 on the menu is enchilada plate/platter with rice and beans was so delicious - have the choice of chicken or beef. We had the rolled chicken enchiladas; they were drowned in this mild and spicy red chile sauce and the shredded chicken was very moist - just love the way they turned out. Above all the food is quite tasty. My family enjoyed it so much we will be returning very soon.
A friend told me about this little Mexican food place on Solano. She insisted I had to try it. So I went by this week and OMG It is pretty darn good. The prices are very good and they have a huge verity. I had the Student special which consisted of a green chile smothered burrito and three tacos for only $5.50 and the drink was included. All I have to say is Papo’s is now my new favorite little place. I give it four stars but only because the parking was not the best, but in all truth I would walk if I had to because yes the food was that good:)
