Guerras Rick Martial Arts

After much searching, my two oldest boys began their martial arts education at Rick Guerra's Academy of Martial Arts in 2008 and much to my amazement, they have continually enhanced their personal and martial arts character. After almost four years, they have continued their training and education and I as well as the youngest of my boys have joined them in the journey. From the Little Warriors to Kids Karate, Adult Karate, Women's Karate, Tournament Team, Demo Team, pick one and you'll find us their...supported and united rise or fall. Together we have learned many skills such as the traditional martial arts techniques and good moral character and sportsmanship. I admire my boys for the sacrifice and strength they've taken in learning karate but I am grateful that through the support of outstanding instructors they remain individuals of good character, a lesson which begins of course at home and is continually supported at the dojo as well. The TEAM GUERRA family has made it so much more than just a karate class, it's family! No other Martial arts academy can ever compare! TEAM GUERRA#1!!!

My experience with this karate school began 5 years ago with my eldest daughter. We enrolled her in a summer camp at this school in order for her to "try out" karate. She really enjoyed the experience and has been enrolled since. I have been so impressed with the family friendly environment that now my son, my wife and myself are all enrolled in the academy. My children have learned respect, integrity and discipline during their time at the academy. The instructors have been very positive with my children regarding karate, school, and their home lives. I highly recommend this academy to anyone looking for a outstanding karate school.

I was mistaken if I thought Karate for kids included fun! My three yr old son came to this academy to try it out. As the hour class was over I found that he was crying the entire time and very scared. No teacher was comforting him or giving him any attention, he was only told "if you are going to cry in Karate then get out". My complaint when I spoke to the son of the owner, was that I could have been told about my son's crying so I can take him out of the the environment. I was then yelled at by the "teacher" that they only teach discipline and I should find another karate school. I feel that this "teacher" was not even disciplined enough to speak like an adult to a concerned parent. Now my son is scared to try any karate school, because he feels they will all be "mean".
