Wow, was I wrong... I heard so many horror stories about this place, from the old day when it was St. Joe's. Granted, I didn't like that it was in the city. I didn't like the parking lot. I didn't like having to have another surgery. And I know how to tear a place apart and find problems and issues that need resolved. It's what I do. I'm an analyst.

But what I found from my initial observation was actually very competent, friendly and helpful staff, a clean and tidy hospital, and though I don't like the idea of the Day Surgery changing rooms having only one bathroom, it wasn't crowded so it wasn't an issue. I had a great surgeon (Dr. H. Phan), a great anesthesiologist (Dr.Li) and had a great pre and post op experience with attentive caregivers. I'm only two days post op (for outpatient surgery) and I feel pretty good other than the expected discomfort and pain from the surgery. Everything was coordinated just like when I had this same procedure done at Heart of Lancaster, but the HOL hospital is a new hospital with newer cool gizmos etc. The only disappointment was the after surgery snacks. I would have preferred a nice large piece of Prime Rib, but that wasn't on the menu. Neither was French Onion soup or a Chocolate Martini, but I made do with the offerings. If anything changes I'll repost, but so far, so good.
