Primary Care
As your child’s medical home, Lancaster Pediatric Associates, Ltd. is a centralized resource for all your child’s medical care needs. You will be asked to choose a Primary Care Provider (PCP) for your child when you register with our practice. Appointments such as physicals, discussions, and medication checks will be scheduled with the child’s PCP to allow for continuity of care and fosters relationship building between your family and that PCP. Sick visits will be scheduled with your child’s PCP whenever possible. You may request to change your child’s PCP by calling our office. We will honor your request whenever possible based on the requested provider’s panel availability. You are an important part of our healthcare team and we encourage you to participate in all aspects of your child’s care.
Ear Infections
Although most wellness services are charge-free, this is not true of problem-oriented services. Some common examples of problem-oriented services include evaluation of ADD, ear infections, sinus congestion or prior visit concerns, etc. We strongly encourage that these seemingly minor issues receive due attention.
Family Practice
A Pediatrician is a physician who specializes in the attainment of optimal physical, mental, and social health for infants, children and adolescents. After medical school, 100% of a Pediatrician’s residency training is devoted to study of the health and illness of children and adolescents. He/She thereafter devotes 100% of his/her time to children. This is in sharp contrast to the family practice resident who spends 25-30% of his/her residency studying pediatrics and thereafter has active experience with pediatric patients only 18% of his/her professional time.
