I considered our family extremely lucky to have found this preschool for our son. I had taught preschool, i have a bachelors degree in early childhood education and a masters degree in teaching and as you can imagine I was extremely picky about the preschool I choose for my son. Bird's nest is by far the most appropriate choice in preschools available in the area. The curriculum is as close to ideal as it comes, her program is based around research findings that show the best learning environment is a Developmentally appropriate learning environment - where children are allowed to explore and learn for real life experiences. When you walk into this preschool you will not find a quiet subdue place, You will find laughter and playing. Mrs. Salpy provides many learning experiences that you do not commonly find in the preschool setting. The curriculum is rich in science. But, nothing can compare to the Love that Mrs. Salpy gives to children and her absolute Joy at their success. One thing that I will never forget and that really can say all about the wonderful person she is - One day I was visiting prior to my son starting school and another little boy wrote his name for the first time - and when she saw it she actually had a tear in her eye she was so incredibly proud at that little boys accomplishment. This preschool builds a strong foundation for future school success!
We did our research when choosing a preschool for our very shy, hesitant child, and Bird’s Nest Learning Academy was by far the best choice. The children are looked after lovingly, and enriched with creative projects ranging from arts and crafts, music, dance, agriculture, and a plethora of animals Ms. Salpy keeps for the children to learn about, play with, and care for. Fieldtrips are a regular part of the curriculum as well. They visit places all over the Antelope Valley including the post office, the wild cat preserve, and NASA. I can’t emphasize enough how much fun our child had, and how he opened up and made wonderful friends. Ms. Salpy is passionate about getting her students off to a great start, and she encourages them kindly but with clearly defined boundaries and expectations. Now that our child has completed her program and is in kindergarten, it is more than apparent that Ms. Salpy knows what is necessary for her students to not only be prepared for school, but be ahead of the game.
Heidi's has greatly help our family by providing day care for my grandson. He even misses them when he doesn't go. Her place is always clean and safe. I would suggest to anyone needing affordable day care to give her a call.
