Have you ever been to IHOP? Well, NEVER go again. LOL You have definetley NOT been to soul food heaven, if you are eating IHOP. I mean the pancakes are the size of an INTERNATIONAL HOUSE. And the food is affordable. You can NEVER go wrong there. You need to experience mama's good breakfast at Soul Food Heaven. I am there bright and early. The owner always has fresh ground coffee. ( AND THE SUGAR ) speak on hospitality. There's rarely sugar at my house when i wake up in the morning. They have buttery,DEFINETLY not dry grits. The eggs are done however you'd like them to be done. The bacon is long, crispy- meaty, not just the regular fat filled kind. You would think they were killing pigs fresh in the back. You can choose from ham, breakfast chops, pork links, and regular sausages. Omelet lover? They can satisfy that crave. These people have something that call the house omelet. But i see literally why. It is as-big-as-a-house Omelet. LOL it consists of all the breakfast meats, onions, mixed bell peppers ( green, red, yellow, orange) cheese (optional), and jalapenos (optional). ( THEY ALSO DO EGG-WHITE OMELETS) WOWWWWW! talk about patience and good quality. All for $1.99

Do you think the Chinese are the only ones that can cook some good beef? Well...sorry to tell you that your WRONG! This place has theirs cooked down in homemade gravy. And it is even has cut up potatoes in it. I took a few friends by and now they beat me there for lunch. One of my closest friends of four years has never eaten chitterlings and now she's there daily wanting some. I also love the shrimp and sausage creole. you have to try it. I even saw a review of Soul Food Heaven in the Lagniappe Food Guide. Talk about PRAISE. i would have thought they were talking about a sunday dinner at church. The owner is so nice and she will make you come over just to talk to her. But, that can't happen with me when i smell the food, i am like a little starving peasant i HAVE to go inside. With the variety she offers, my stomach always growls all the time, when i am searching for the right thing to eat. She let me get samples:) Which i am VERY happy for. LOL You NEED to go there! I mean she even has movies playing. I wouldn't mind working there. ( BUT 0NlY IF I ATE F0R FREE ) just $6.26
I personally think that the shrimp and sausage creole is the best dish. It is mixed with a variety of flavors. Everytime I taste it, it reminds me of something that my mom couldn't make. The second thing i would speak on, would be the smothered pork chops and rice. The rice is always so soft and the pork chops have that tender fall off the bone taste. The last thing that i would reccomend, would be the gumbo. True New Orleans flavor. It is the BEST you could ever taste. I have traveled throughout New Orleans to find nothing better.
