This meditative modality offers many benefits, and Puritie Spa is proud to be among the few in the area to offer it. Thai massage or "lazy man's yoga" is both energizing and grounding. This 2,500-year-old art form is traditionally performed fully clothed on a padded mat, but can also be performed on the table or blended with other massage modalities. The client wears loose and comfortable clothing such as sportswear to facilitate the assisted poses, stretches and compressions. The practitioner uses forearms, elbows, knees and feet to enhance flexibility, energy and postural alignment.

Cupping Therapy
Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which the therapist puts special cups on your skin to create suction. The suction and negative pressure provided by cupping can loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and sedate the nervous system (which makes it an excellent treatment for high blood pressure). Cupping is used to relieve back and neck pains, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism, and even cellulite. Guasha Massage & Fascial Release
Gua Sha therapy is a traditional Chinese medicine technique very similar to the Graston technique in western medicine. The principles behind Gua Sha is to induce light petechiae (redness) by scraping the skin. This technique will release unhealthy bodily matter from blood stasis within the sored, tired, stiff or injured muscles to release new oxygenated blood to the affected area.
