My friend suggested this place to me, so my husband and I went one evening and were absolutely blown away! We had the combination fajitas platter and the apple pie for dessert. The fajita meat was so tender, especially the beef. It practically melted in my mouth. I have honestly never had such delicious and tender fajitas in my life! And I've been to all the Mexican restaurants in lafayette... Later our dessert arrived and we were so impressed. It was a big apple pie slice with ice cream on top served in a sizzling skillet. Sizzling in the skillet and all around the pie was this amazing lite caramel butter sauce.. Can't say exactly what was in this sauce, but it was AMAZING. The aroma filled up the entire restaurant. We had such a great experience, and have now been telling all of OUR friends about it!

Agave is an amazing restaurant. We went last Saturday night and sat on the patio...even tho it was a typical hot summer night in Louisiana, it didnt even bother me because we were caught up in the atmosphere. Im a fan of good tequila and they have the best selection that I have seen since my last visit to Mexico! The appetizers were amazing...the shrimp on a chip, seafood eggrolls..oh, and you MuSt try the QUESO DE AGAVE!! We will be back soon!!
My family and I have just moved back to Lafayette after spending 6 years in Houston. We all grew to love the Tex Mex there and the local restaurants in Lafayette were mostly a let down. That was until we found La Pagua. While officially Cuban food (try the taco's), it is the closest thing to traditional tex mex that we have found in Lafayette. Great menu and great service.
