Two of my children have been tutored extensively by Christine. My daughter was especially resistant to working on reading before starting tutoring with Christine. Christine was incredible in how she established a relationship with my daughter and made their sessions fun. Christine really tailored the tutoring sessions to my daughter's learning style and personality. My daughter's confidence and ability with her reading skyrocketed, and my daughter always looked forward to her time with Christine. When I tell my son that it's a "Ms. LaFaille Day", he says "YAAAY!!!!!" He views his time being tutored as a treat, which thrills me because his his reading ability has been greatly improved in the process.



Christine knows the standards and benchmarks for the State of California. Christine is familiar with the assessments that the schools use, and she can administer them. I have found it very helpful that Christine can speak a common language with my childrens' teachers. If there has been a need to focus on a specific concept, she understands this and can address it.



I appreciate Christine's professionalism and caring. It has been a joy to get to know her, and I am forever indebted to her for the confidence and love of reading that she has instilled in my children.

There are a lot of tutors out there and it's hard to know where to turn. In Christine, we found someone who not only helped our daughter improve her reading, but someone with whom our daughter is very comfortable. In my book, this is a wonderful combination.



Christine is patient and kind-hearted. She consistently updates us on our daughter's progress and has been flexible with scheduling. She keeps the kids engaged with incentive prizes as well as fun riddles at the end of lessons.

My 6 year-old looks forward to going to Christine's and will do things for her that he won't do at home. At Christine's he finds learning fun, as she uses creative ways to keep him interested.

Christine has a true knack for understanding where your child needs help and has numerous different engaging activities to help target their needs. When we first went to Christine, our son was struggling with even basic reading concepts in kindergarten. By the end of the summer after kindergarten he was reading at grade level, and he is now reading above grade level with 6th grade level comprehension skills in 3rd grade. We directly attribute this to Christine's help witih him as he was an emerging reader. More important than the scores and metrics, though, is that our sons now enjoy reading and have so much more confidence because they are not struggling. Christine is warm, kind, and fun - the boys couldn't wait to go. We highly recommend her.

Christine La Faille began working with my daughter at the end of 3rd grade. Her years of experience enabled her to modify her style and approach when working with my daughter as she developed as a reader and matured as a pre-teen in 6th grade. When my son was in first grade, I wanted to get an independent, professional to evaluate my son's reading level to know my child was reading at his true level. I took my son to Christine's ABC Reading Center located in Lafayette, CA in her charming educational center and was so impressed with the way she worked with my son. She would give immediate feedback and rewards after each session, which helped to motivate my son into enjoying working with Christine. At my son's teacher-parent conference the teacher told me my son had known a certain number of site words, which I knew was incorrect, because Christine had made weekly progress evaluation reports which I presented to the teacher many more site words my son knew which were not on his progress report at school. This teacher knew I was on top of things with my child due to Christine's wonderful and engaging techniques. I was a reading specialist for adults so I had confidence in Christine's knowledge and techniques used with elementary children. I was also impressed with the warm, sincere interaction she would give me. I am a very conscientious parent who wanted to interact with someone who was an expert in reading and she made me feel so good and was patient with me in letting me know my child's progress after each session. Something I don't get with the public school system. Christine's service is an excellent barometer for know your child's true reading level with instant feedback. Christine is great and I recommend her to any parent to wants their child to thrive in the love of reading!

Christine was referred to us when my son was struggling a bit with reading in kindergarten and she has made a world of difference. He loves going and is learning new skills every week. His teacher even looked at me (after 3 sessions) and asked what we’d been up to as she definitely noticed a difference in class.
