Professionalism

I am a new patient with Dr Urso and I came to get a second opinion concerning my eye health. Dr Urso examine me and was very confident that he can treat my eyes back to health. That built my confidence even the more. He explained to me what was going on and what was needed to get my eyes healthy. He showed me eye illustrations of how the eye was formed and what was going on. He was very patient and interested with what was going on with my eyes. He didn't see a need to jump into any type of surgery if he didn't have to. Thank you Dr Urso for understanding my concern and the concern of keeping my eyes healthy. And thank you to your staff for being so nice.
Thank you team.

Overall

Oh my gosh! What a horrible experience I had going to this office. When making the appointment I had advised I start work at 9:30am and made my appointment for 8 am. Was advised Dr. Urso may be running behing but should give him plently of time to examine me.

1. Then I arrived at 7:50 am but could not find the door. I drive around the hospital twice and tried other doors. Emergency only. Physicians only. Clinic was not open until 10 am. Asked valet parking and they advised it's a "unmarked door". Tried unmarked doors. Were locked. (kinda scarey to go in a unmakred door at a hospital).

2. While looking for the entrance I called office 4 times. First 3 times I was disconnected. 4th time I advised please do not hang up on me and was put on hold. This was the answering service. Never introduced themselves as the answering service.

3. While at the sign up window I asked if the doctor was running behind. Girl advised "well yes he's not even here yet" in a smart tone.

4. The Opthomologist assist/tech never introduced herself. Just had me sit down and started exam. I said excuse me what is your name and what is your role? (I've never been examined by a assist/tech before).

5. Tech wanted to put drops in my eyes. I asked about drops and was advised my vision would be blurred for a couple of hours. Was not aware of this or advised when making appt. Refused drops as I work on computer and must be able to see. Would have had to take time off work for this. This did not go over well. I advised tech that I would still like to see the doctors for at least 5 minutes. She left and closed door. Someone came back in room about 15 minutes later and advised doctor can not see if me if I have not had drops. I advised I would like to see doctor at least for 5 minutes.

6. Waited for over an hour and still did not see doctor. Walked out of room grabed my chart and wrote note so doctor to please call me. and gave to girl who worked there.

7. Received call while in car and was advised doctor will call me between 12 and 1. I asked why I could not speak to doctor at the time of call as this was my appt time and I waited for over an hour to see him. She advised I was next and he is going to see his morning appoitments and then call me.

WOW. Is this doctor full of himself or what. The entire office does not seem to understand. No comment on answering service hanging up on me, they told me "I was was late for appointment ast 8:12 am". I'm never late. I really tried to find the entrance. Made comment that when seeing a "medical doctor" they always put drops in. I guess I'm suppose to know this. Really? Sure wasted my time. Don't waste yours.
