Do not use Kingston Kabs. We set a pickup time 90 mins in advance and they were forty minutes late. We were waiting outside in the snow and gave dispatch the option of setting a later picku to be conservative so we wouldn't freeze. After they missed the pickup time I called every fifteen minutes and each time the dispatcher told me a story about traffic (although there was none) and that the driver was ten minutes away. The driver said he came as soon as dispatch told him to. This is a terrible and dishonest company.
I arranged in advance to be picked up at the Newburgh airport. When the flight touched down I called to double check that the cab would be there. At first they couldn't find my reservation. Then she asked me for my name and flight etc. Then she said she had found the reservation and that a cab was on it's way, but would be a few minutes late. I said fine since it would take me a few minutes to get from the plane to the curb. When I arrived at the pick up point, the taxi wasn't there. To make a long story short I called repeatedly and each time was told that the cab would be there in just another 5-10 minutes. The cab finally arrived, AN HOUR LATE. An hour is about how long it would take a cab to get there if it had left to pick me up shortly after my first phone call. I believe that the dispatcher didn't know about my reservation, but when I called SHE LIED TO ME to say the cab was almost at the airport. Then, each time I called back SHE LIED TO ME AGAIN saying the cab was almost there so that I wouldn't get a ride from someone else. But wait, there's more.
When the cab finally arrived, it smelled of cigarette smoke. During the ride, the horrible dispatcher yelled at various drivers over the radio and ridiculed one for talking too slowly. The driver then got lost going to my house and had to borrow my cell phone to use the GPS. When I finally arrived home they used my credit card info that I had given earlier to add in a $10 tip without my permission.
I live about 4 minutes from uptown Kingston. My two friends called this cab company from my house and after waiting 30 minutes and still no cab, called them again to be told the cab was on its way. After over an hour of waiting, no cab showed up and they got a ride from someone else. About an hour and a half later, I get a call from Kingston Kabs saying the cab is outside. I told her that my friends left after waiting an hour, about a half hour ago. The dispatcher had the nerve to nastily reply that it would have been nice if someone had called to cancel the cab. I told her it would have been nice if someone had shown up!
I would never recommend this company to anyone. Not only because of the terrible and unreliable service, but because of their bad attitudes and lack of respect for customers.
Possibly one of the worst interactions with a customer service representative I have ever encountered. I was assured with an hour lead time that I would be picked up in time to get from a residential location to the bus station. At 15 minutes prior to the bus departure I called to check in and was told that car 81 was on its way. 5 minutes later I called to cancel the car as it hadn't arrived and I wasn't going to make the bus. I was nastily informed that the car had arrived and they tried to call me so the driver was released. They did no such thing as I was sitting by the door and the phone the entire time and they hung up on me. Suffice it to say, I missed my bus. Do not use this service.
