        • Our Story
          In the early 1950’s, Dixie Alexander opened the original “Dixie Café” in Borger, Texas. She and her husband Edward lived nearby in a small Phillips Petroleum Company oil field camp. The grocery store, located in Phillips, was called the “Quick Stop Grocery”. Edward had moved to Texas from Missouri where he grew up on a farm. His great, great-grandfather had moved to Missouri from his family’s farm in Woodford County, Kentucky. Now, Edward’s youngest son, Lynn, completed the full circle by moving from Texas, where he lived all of his life, back to a Kentucky horse farm. Lynn and his youngest daughter Kasi decided to open a restaurant showcasing family Texas recipes and thus was born the first “Dixie Café & Quick Stop” in Keene, Kentucky.

          Quick Stop Hours: Tues - Fri 7:00 am - 3:00 pm. Saturday 7:00 am - 2:00 pm. Café Hours: Tues - Sat 7:00 am - 2:00 pm. Kitchen Hours 7am - 2pm. Hot Grab & Go and Cold Deli sandwiches available until close. Located apx. 2.2 miles off Harrodsburg Road at the corner of Hwy 169 & Keene-South Elkhorn Road in Keene, KY - just 3.5 miles from Keene Trace Golf Course.

        Outstanding food. Have never been disappointed with any of the menu items I've ordered. I make it a point to recommend both family and friends. It's a bit off the beaten path but certainly worth the stop. Be sure to look for the Irish candy...it's a regular purchase for my family and I. Thank you.

        We serve up the best homemade breakfast & lunch comfort food in the area. Are you new to the area? Come in and try our famous homemade Texas Burger or Dixie-Fried Potatoes! We're also well-known for our weekly lunch specials. Not in the mood for lunch food? Don't worry, we offer breakfast all day, every day. In addition to being Keene's favorite restaurant, we're also a convenience store with a great selection of Irish groceries and various unique products from local businesses & artisans. Our convenience store is open 7 am-5:30 pm, Tuesday through Friday, and Saturday 7 am-2 pm. Serving the community is our passion and we pride ourselves on offering the best customer service.
