World Martial Arts Academy of Kearny

Having my son join this Martial Arts School was one of the best decisions I have ever made. He joined when he was four and about a year later they started to offer family classes that encouraged me to join. My son is more focused now and sets higher goals for himself with the positive attitude that says "I know it's not easy, BUT I can do it if I try hard and remain focused on the ultimate goal." He has been a Black Belt Student for over a year now and I should be receiving mine soon. If you are looking to spend some quality time with your children while they learn a new art for physical fitness, emotional and mental well being & discipline, try their family class it's really awesome. The instructor Alex Silva is wonderful and Grand Master S.D. Yoon is simply incredible. You will see for yourself what a wonderful setting this school has to offer. Wonderful place!!! My son loves it! He started at 4 years old and is now 7. He's always ready to go to class and loves the intsructors and how they can make class fun.

This academy is wonderful. Right on the main avenue, excellent instructors and students and reasonable prices. Stop by for a free trial class and see for yourself! The art is Korean TaeKwonDo and they also have sword (kendo) training and other weapons. Hapkido (self defense) is one of the key subjects taught here also. One of the most popular reasons why people enroll, especially children, is the discipline that they learn in and out of the class. The school encourages children to bring in their report cards so that they get a gold star for their uniform if they get A's or better. What they learn in school is carried into their home life, i.e., respect for their parents, cleaning their room, getting along with siblings, etc. All in all, TaeKwonDo training is ideal for the whole family. Give the school a try, you will not regret it!
