My Priority package was accepted into their facility at midnight, and left their 25 minutes later. It doesn't get any better than that.

MUST BE WORST POST OFFICE IN THE USA

Almost every time, without fail when my packages reach the Kearny PO progress stops. I live in E.O., NJ and one time after my package sat it Kearny for several days, it was finally shipped to New York, then sent back. finally I received it. Every time I order something from eBay I track it. It moves quite well until it reaches Kearny. Then I hold my breath because it usually sits there for several days, sometimes over a week. I just made a purchase off of eBay last week and it was shipped out Priority mail from CA. It was scheduled for delivery on 8/5. It reached Kearny on Sat. 5/3 and I guess you know the rest... Today is 8/5 and it's still sitting in Kearny and my mail delivery has past. All I can do is wait and hope for tomorrow. They should shut that place down, along with the East Orange Post Office. Three time now I've tracked my packages out from the E.O., PO. It said out for delivery and I didn't receive the packages until the next day each time. I live 2 blocks from the PO.



UPDATE!

August 6, 2013. I just checked USPS tracking website and my package is still sitting in the Kearny NJ Post Office with a Scheduled Delivery Day: August 5, 2013. This is the 3rd day that it's been there. This doesn't make any sense. What purpose does this PO serve?

Why does this facility even exist??????? 3rd being the due date now is 4th and yet my tracking only says it has departed this office since 2nd. Now I have mad customer who paid $20 shipping so he can get it asap and. I mean there are hundreds of complains about this place and no one does anything.... I will not do business with USPS never again! USPS don't care why should I? Stick with delivering junk mail that is all you good for !

Anyway the customer service here is nice. The guy explained me well about that this is a huge facility. It's hard to check it one by one.(He said probably they lost the mail)



However I really get annoyed of this place.

No wonder USPS is loosing business to Fedex or UPS.

My business orders items every day from different suppliers, meaning that we are checking tracking information constantly. On the 9th I had a package arrive at the Kearny facility, which I had checked on the 10th. Today, on the 12th, the customer that ordered the item came in to check on it. To my surprise.. it's still at the Kearny facility. It's been there since the 9th.



I called to complain, or ask for help, or something I don't know, but all I was told was that "first class mail doesn't get updated tracking info as regularly." I'm sure, lady, that you know this because you order things regularly First Class, and never see your own updated info, but let me tell you, this is the first time i've ever ordered anything first class and didn't see every stop my package has made. She told me that they don't always get scanned in. So what you're telling me is that my package has been moving around untracked and no one but the people who are handling it have any clue where it's at? You're actually expressing to me how incompetent your industry is? Thanks.



That being said, i'm calling BS. Based on all of these other reviews, i'm going to assume that the package is still at Kearny. If it's not, it's pitiful and unprofessional that my package is moving around completely untracked.

I would give 0 stars if possible. It has been about a week waiting to see it leave this facility. There should be no reason it should be held at one place more than a few day.

They take forever to depart my item every time!!! Are you kidding me! When I should be getting the item in a day or 2. It takes a week because of them. Horrible! They need to be fired in that entire facility! They don't deserve any stars. 0 all the way!

My package was supposed to be delivered on the 14th. Today is the 19 and I still havn't received it. Thank God I know the mail man that delivers my packages. He just text me my package arrived to be delivered. He told me that everytime it passes through the facility this happens. You will receive your package late or NEVER! My experience wasn't bad compared to others. I'm getting my stuff, hope you all do too.

I dont understand why Amazon always send my purchase to this particular office.. ive haven't had any serious problems with them yet. But I will say they take forever to scan my package

The USPS from this facility has misplaced my package suppose to receive the item on 4/30/2013. Left the Kearny sort facility on 5/02/2013 from there it magically disappeared!! I have request a new item to be sent and now it arrived in Kearny sort facility on 5/10/2013, hopefully I will get my package on 5/11/2013. Still harassing the USPS Consumer Affairs here in NJ, the representative who is assisting me is useless, they so not follow up with lost packages from the Kearny Sort facility. Thanks for nothing USPS!

This is obviously a package theft ring! My package from china entered this sort facility, and now where is it?!

What is wrong with this place? Every time a package of mine enters this place, it stays there for several days, going over the estimated delivery date. All I can think of is that there's only 1 old man working there but it's too busy chewing tobacco sitting on a chair in front of the facility. Seriously, every time I see this place on my tracking, I lose all hope.

Time to take legal action against this facility!!



We have a movie rental business like Netflix and our business is about to collapse because of this place. in last 3 weeks, all our users have started complaining about missing movies , unexplained delays for first class mails and we are losing customers left right and center.



Can all the people who are suffering because of this center, together file law suit or complaint so that some action can be taken?

As anyone could see from every other review this place deserves 0 stars not even the one. It's been 20 days since my package "left their sorting facility." In that time a package managed to make it all the way across the ocean and to me in ohio from china. Apparently NJ to OH is too hard. They need to be shut down.

I WOULD GIVE THIS PLACE 0 STARS! 2 TIMES IN ONE MONTH MY PACKAGE GETS "STUCK" AT THIS SORTING FACILITY.... I HAD A PACKAGE SENT TO ME PRIORITY TWICE AND BOTH TIMES IT NEVER REACHED ME ON IT'S EXPECTED DELIVERY DATE. I HAD ONE PACKAGE ALMOST A WEEK LATE. I GET SO SCARED WHEN I SEE MY PACKAGE LAND AT THIS FACILITY. I TRIED CALLING THEM AND NO ONE EVER ANSWERS....HERE ARE #S FOR THOSE WANTING TO TRY (GOOD LUCK) CONTACTING THEM.

ITS NO WONDER THE USPS LOSES MONEY THIS IS RIDICULOUS. WHY CHARGE ME FOR PRIORITY IF IT TAKES A WEEK ANYWAY? SO PISSED.

THEY NEVER SCAN THE PACKAGES PROPERLY. THEY NEED TO SHUT THIS FACILITY DOWN AND FIND A NEW PLACE TO SORT THE PACKAGES BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE OVERWHELMED. LAZY. LAZY.

sent a priority mail package out on the 21 of march for my nieces 5th bday...needless to say it is now stuck in the Kearny facility...no changes in status online saying it left the facility on the 23rd however no time is listed as it is with all other actions listed for this package. seeing all the reviews i am totally disgusted with the whole situation esp knowing my niece probably will not receive her bday gifts and the fact that i had enclosed her sisters gifts for her bday in april...these items can't be replaced! why is nothing being done to rectify the situation at this facility????? i WILL NOT send another thing thru the USPS EVER...it will be worth the xtra $ to make sure my packages arrive at their intended destination and keep my nieces from being disappointed...AND the only reason that 1 star is marked is because u have to if it were up to me it would be a star rating of ZERO!!!

This has to be the worst sorting facility in the US. I head a package arrive in Kearny, I live 2 towns over, and they ended up sending it south to Edison NJ. Are they smoking crack? That's 3 packages in 2 months that they've either lost or sent somewhere incorrect. 1 package took 3 weeks for in state shipping.
