I got a new reception desk from Craigslist. However, when purchasing from Craigslist, regardless of the amazing condition the desk was in, there is no delivery. So after shopping around for someone in San Diego who would move my desk only was surprisingly difficult. Most places will only do larger full office moves. The ones that were willing to move my desk wanted to charge me by the hour with a 3 or more hour minimum. It would only take a few minutes to move my desk from Mira Mesa to Rancho Bernardo. Just when I was about to use the guys hanging out under the freeway overpass, I ran across an ad for San Diego Small Moves on Google. Actually it was the same search I had been using to find all the others but they were not at the top of the search results. These guys charged me a flat fee which is exactly what I was looking. Though the price was reasonable, that was not my big issue. I would have paid more just to have my desk moved without some guy taking his time just to increase the cost. Don't let the old Ryder truck with the faded paint from the removal of the Ryder logos fool you. These guys were completely professional and prompt. They took the huge oak desk apart, packed it in blankets to keep from damaging it, and offered to put it back together for me. I know you get what you pay for, but it is not often that I am pleasantly surprised by getting MORE than I paid for.

We can't begin to tell how pleased my husband and I are with Allen Davis Moving. We were moving from La Paz, Mexico to Washington. The Mexican moving van took over a week in customs, making the switch to our American moving company, Allen Davis, very difficult because we couldn't give Allen Davis a certain date for their move here. They were very patient, and when we were ready at the border, so was Allen Davis. We arrived here yesterday, after a six-day drive, and the next day their van was here. The three men were efficient, extremely friendly, and very helpful when we had to make some changes about where things were to go. I would recommend them with high praise!
Hiring movers is stressful, especially when your building requires insurance. The rates were very competitive in terms of licensed movers. I had the certificate of insurance that the building requires within 2 hours of my request. Last time I moved it took days to get the document. My crew was on time, polite and very efficient. My move was done in 3 hours with drive time. I can’t believe we were under the estimate. I love saving money unexpectedly. My furniture was wrapped in blankets and plastic and handled with care. And I was able to put the entire thing on my credit card including the tip for the crew. This has been the easiest move I have ever made.
