KC Sushi may not sound like an authentic name, and when you pull up to the nearly empty parking lot and see the blackened windows across the front of the building, you may think they're not even open. Go on in. You'll be quite pleasantly surprised. We have eaten at several sushi restaurants and have never tasted such delicious recipes. Honestly, everything we've ordered has always been overly satisfying. We have a friend who is a foreign exchange student from Japan. He missed his food from back home. So we took him out to KC Sushi, and he said it tasted just like home. So there you have it. KC Sushi is the most authentic and delicious sushi bar to visit in Kansas City. Go there!!! You'll love it.
Six of us dined here for my daughters birthday. The food was perfectly prepared (not overcooked and rubbery like other hibachis), sizable portions (we all left with to-go boxes), a courteous server and a very entertaining chef. My daughter laughed and smiled so much she said her face hurt. The free cheesecake and commemorative photo for birthdays is a nice touch. We did not try the sushi but the calamari appetizer was piled high for $5.95. We saved 15% because of the Early Bird Special (before 5?)...nice treat on a busy school night. Even before the discount it was a very good value compared to other local hibachis. The decor is fresh and inviting. We will definitely return.
Best Sushi in KC. Very welcoming atmosphere. My girlfriend and I were the only patrons not greeted by name. The sushi chef was very entertaining. And he interacts alot with the patrons. The sushi chef's wife was our server and their daughter was seated in a corner doing homework. All of them were very social and enjoyed talking with the patrons. The service was great. I go through my drinks pretty quick and the server was good at refilling them. On Sunday's from 11-2 they have happy hour, 24.99 for all you can eat sushi rolls. Which is one heck of a deal considering we got 2 rolls and soup for that much. I highly recommend you visit KC sushi.
Having been to this same type of restauraunt in many other cities, we like this one the most. The chefs are quite good, the waitresses are helpful, and the bartender,Hung, was awesome. This place is not too fancy - but instead is noisy, comfortable, and feels like a big party when the tables are full. Not the place for a quiet romantic dinner, but is great for family outings or double dating. Did I mention lots of great shrimp?
This was my first visit to Kansas City. I love Hibachi styled restaraunts and was very excited to eat here. Although the flying shrimp had a rough landing, Chef Sandy (aka Lil John) was awesome!!!!! He was an excellent cook/entertainer! I had a fantastic time, and the waitstaff were superior! I "lava you" Sandy and Pavina! Thanks for making this a wonderful experience!
This place is by far the best place to eat in Kansas City. The food is good, the chef is entertaining and all around its a great atmosphere! By far, the ebst chef is Densin (I doubt I spelled that correctly). Everytime I go I ask for him. He's the best and I can't imagine having another chef!
The food is wonderful! The ONLY downside to GOJO's is the fact that they set upto 10 people at a table on a busy night, which is usually anytime they are open. I would suggest they maxout at 8. Other than that I would have given them 10 STARS!!!!
I love this place! First visit was 6 years ago. Every visit is so wonderful and so much great food! We always have a container to take home and the yellow sauce is perfect too. We have never been disappointed and go numerous times during the year.
I been going to GOJO'S many times the food is great thier price, waw cheap and their chef too their really fun to talk with them, ask them where they they gonna tell you
This is the best place I have been to in Kansas City. The food is great and the atmosphere is awesome. For the money you get plenty of food.
