We got our new puppy here. Great dog so sweet.
Pros: they help pay for some of the round of shots as they were due up until she was purchased.
Cons: While they did disclose one small problem they did not even mention that the dog had been treated for round worms once (most vets require at least two rounds of treatment before the pet is deemed worm free). They did this while we told them about our cats and while I was holding my 2 year old daughter (round worms can cause blindness in children). They happily did not tell us! This would not have stopped the purchase but it would have informed us to take precautions and just been the professional thing to do. Our puppy is of a large breed and they also left out that she had a limp at her last vet visit. Upon checkout they did not have any of her medical information. The vet that they had us use was not able to see us until 3 days later and that is when we learned about the worms and her leg. You cannot imagine how flabergasted we were and just pissed at the pet store!
The short and sweet of it is they kept information from us and had a total professional disregard for the puppies, our cats, and our daughters safety and good health. Will never go here again and will tell anyone to go to a breeder directly, or a store that handles things in a more professional manner.
Edit : The owner called me to discuss our options with this puppy. Returning her is NOT an option as we adopt for life. We mention the three issues we have with this puppy and our purchase, we get to #1 (the worms), and the owner cuts us off. Ignoring the fact that they had withheld information about her, but choosing to focus on the fact that worms are common in puppies. Then when I tried to continue to speak, the owner told me that I didn't deserve the dog and that we need to return her asap. I have waited 7 years to finally adopt a pyrenees and to be told I don't deserve her? I am sorry, I wasn't aware that expecting to be in the know with MY puppy's medical history was being a bad pet owner and thus putting me in some horrid category for pet owners!
After the owner proceeded to hang up on my life telling her to never call the pet store again (keep in mind the owner called us), my wife was crying pretty hard after. I calmed my wife down, tried to call to the pet store to speak to the owner and really get down to business. The owner refused to speak to me, but the manager did answer. The manager/owner seem to be focused and set on that we have an issue with the dog, which isn't the case. We have an issue with the store for withholding information pertaining to the pet/purchase.
You can't just home and then re-home an animal like that! That WILL create issues! But, if you are HONEST and UPFRONT with prospective buyers, that WILL create the trust needed to ensure that they pet/owner have a good match and that the dog is going to a life long home!
I am definitely contacting the BBB. This woman needs a reality check.
Paid $1000.00 for a supposed purebred puppy (original price was 2,500), and we weren't even able to get papers in her. Wtf?
