People should not comment on things when they have no idea what they are discussing or any real information about the subject. People who don't have a clue what they are talking about really need to SHUT UP!!! To all the STUPID PEOPLE; Michigan Law does not any longer require STATE Registered Car and Limousine services to lease meters from the city in which the service is operated. Michigan law requires their vehicles to be periodically inspected by MDOT (Michigan Dept. of Transportation). For the drivers they must have a valid State Issued Michigan Chauffeurs License and be approved by the company's insurance provider to drive. The meters were previously leased by transportation providers from the City of Kalamazoo. In 2002 most existing Kalamazoo area company's did away with meters because they were no longer a requirement for operation. The City still closely regulates fare rate minimum and maximum charges per mile and initial arrival costs. So the "UN-INFORMED Hater" John H. is correct about one thing; they are not licensed as a taxi they are Registered Limousine & Car Service providers licensed by the state as a car for hire. If you think a service is not properly licensed to operate as a car for hire, all you have to do is check the bottom portion of the rear windows. Any legally registered vehicle will have a glittery Michigan Registration sticker shining back at you. I think it's funny people talk about things of which they have no knowledge.
