The nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. A crown is typically planned to further cover and protect the tooth.Crowns are warranted to protect a tooth with excessive decay. Crowns and veneers are also used for cosmetic reasons.Bridges are used to replace missing teeth by placing crowns on the teeth adjacent to the mission tooth/teeth and then connecting to a (missing) tooth replica.Implants are increasing popular for replacing missing teeth. The patient is referred to an oral surgeon for placement of the implant and then when the implant site is healed, the patient returns our office for the abutment/crown.Dentures: Immediate dentures are made when a patient requires minimal teeth to be extracted before a denture can be placed. The denture is made before the extractions and is placed in the mouth immediately after the extractions. The shrinking of gum tissue and bone will warrant a reline approximately six months later. Interim Dentures are made when a patient requires multiple teeth to be extracted before a denture can be placed. The denture is made before the extractions and is placed in the mouth immediately after the extractions. The shrinking of gum tissue and bone will warrant replacement approximately six months later.
