Jones Off Road Vehicles
- BBB Rating:
I would not recomend buying anything used from Jones Offroad. Today I looked at a 2007 kawasaki kx250 2 stroke dirtbike, it looked nice in the pictures. It was priced at $2695, which is a few hundred dollars above the NADA high retail ($1750-$2305). I called and was told the only thing known to be wrong with this bike was some rust on the exhaust. When i got there the bike was not at all as described. One of the radiator shouds was barely hanging on and cracked badly, the rear fender was missing fasteners and was about to fall off, the tires were bad enough that even the salesman himself told me "that they werent even worth taking off" it looked like someone had beed doing plenty of asphalt burnouts, the grips were in horrible shape(didnt even replace $10 dollar part before advertising), the clutch had been run without proper freeplay adjustment, and the seat cover had a HUGE rip in it. Then to top everything off when i started the bike to hear it run i was told to kill the engine, THE SPARK PLUG WAS LOOSE!... oil seeped out the plug hole and down the side of the cylinder. I told the salesman that i was expecting the bike to be in much better shape and for me to even be interested they would really have to deal with me. I explained that i have plenty of experience with motorcycles and i could fix the problems myself, this is a 5 year old motorcycle and it was not in great condition. The salesman left to ask his boss if there was any room to drop the price. After a few minutes of waiting i was told that $2400 was absolutely bottom dollar, which is ABOVE the high end retail for the bike ($2305), and this bike needed several hundred dollars worth of work before it should even be ridden. All in all I feel like my time was wasted and they have no regaurd for the customer. Advertising something in this bad of condition and then expecting premium price for it is unacceptable.
