Vitiligo is a skin condition resulting from loss of pigment which produces white patches. Any part of the body may be affected. Usually both sides of the body are affected. Common areas of involvement are the face, lips, hands, arms, legs, and genital areas. Vitiligo affects one or two of every 100 people. Cassie Basak is a board certified Physician Assistant who graduated from Dominican University in River Forest, IL with a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Biomedical Engineering at The University of Iowa. As a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, she is working to complete the SDPA Diplomat Fellowship. Cassie joined Fine Skin in February, 2019.
