if i could rate this company with a negitave star rating i would, my family and i bought some of the star snack toffee peanuts and the trial mix. we had to return some of them to the store in which we bought them from for a foul odor and taste from them. we quite buying this brand for around a month and then tried them again to see if the issue had been fixed. we bought 4 cans, 2 which where trail mix and 2 being the toffee peanuts. 1 of these cans had the same issue as the others did a month before. i wrote a email the first time to the company with no reply. then last night i sent another one again for the same issue. the lady i spoke with was telling me their product are fine that its all tested before being sent out. she asked for the bottom number off the can and then told me that the code meaning is that its from 2010. that they are gonna send some samples of "fresh" product and that they will make sure they report this issue to the right person. the lady also told me this was not a issue with them but a issue with the company that resales the products to the grocery store. after getting off the phone with the lady, we got to looking at the bottom of the other cans we have, and they each have the same number on the bottom of the cans. so from what they are saying is that all the product we are buying are 3 years old? i think not. after doing a little searching online ive found report after report regarding the same issues with this company, people report getting sick from these, finding glass,metal,bugs,ect.. in these products. now something is really going wrong at this company to have this many report for the same issue and still nothing is being done. some reports date back to the year 2010 for the SAME issues. so that is telling me that this has been going on for years and the company really dont give a crap about the consumer or the product they put out. after reading this my family and i are DONE! with this company. i dont care what they say, from doing my research this is a on going issue that still isnt fixed. so star snacks you have lost another customer, wake up and fix your product and quit lying to people that email you, stop saying your not getting our emails, because my second one got there just fine, so i know good and well you got my first one. its not the distribution center for these stores, its your damn company, man up and admit to the issue and do a fricken recall before someone gets put in the hospital. BUYER BEWARE!
