Carlo's Bakery

Been there several times...the ONLY thing good about the bakery is the cannoli's and lobster claws. The rest, you can get elsewhere (better tasting) for a lot less grief and aggravation not to mention $$. They pack you in like sardines. Now, you wait outside for over an hour then when you finally get inside it's another hour or more. Calling and e mailing them is a joke, don't bother. Their cakes are awful. We tried several times to see if maybe the first time was just not a good time but after seveal trips and $$$$ later, it's NOT worth it. You're paying a lot for rice crispy treats and wooden dowls for a cake to look good and taste bad. Big deal, they're on TV, you're paying for that too. It's like a madhouse; the entire experience is get in, throw money at them and get out. You're shoulder to shoulder with people. The folks who have pre ordered, muscle their way in with yellow slips to get to the front of the bakery, then, they add to their order while you wait....who needs that? You certainly cannot look around to make your choices and you're talking at shouting levels to someone behind a counter who's going back and forth from one to another to place your order. Very unorganized. Depending on who you talk to, either they make a particular filling you want...or they don't?! I would rather a much more civilized trip to another bakery than go to Carlo's.
