I also cannot understand these comments below because I've had personal experience with these people and the only nice, decent, and helpful ones were two lady techs in the back area, who stood next to me when I had to put my dog down. I've come to a similar situation with my current dog and have found other speciality hospitals for half the price, exact same procedures but AMAZING vets who actually cared about my dogs well being as well as returned my phone calls when requested immediately.

The staff is horrible and is only about making money. Gave me no options but a high bill. They didn't Care about my pet or me. Dont take your pet there because you will regret it.

I have used OVS for years and have a hard time understanding some of the other comments on here. The only thing I can think of is that people are going to an EMERGENCY ROOM with unrealistic expectations. the staff here is great but not miracle workers, the prices are high but plans are always discussed and and expectations are explained.

The staff and Drs at OVS are absolutely amazing. Every department has always been so helpful and so compassionate when I've taken my pets to them. The entire crew from the Drs to the kennel staff are absolutely amazing and you can tell are so passionate about what they do. Contrary to what some would say, it's never about the money to them, it's about the medicine they practice. I took my dog in through the emergency department where they ran some diagnostics and determined she needed an ultrasound. Dr. Hodges workes her into his very busy schedule and confirms my dog has a foreign body that needed to be removed. It was then that I was told Dr. Ricker, the board certified surgeon, would work the surgery into his very busy schedule! Who gets that kind of service anymore!?! This is such a great group and I'd recommend them to everyone!

My kitten just got home from a spay and laser declaw at OVS, and I will say, I couldn't have had abetter experience! Dr. Ricker was the surgeon and Dr. Cory Johnson was the vet in charge of follow up care. Dr. Ricker explained each procedure to me and made sure that I understood each one before I signed the informed consent. He also called me after surgery to update me on how it went as well as how my baby was doing. I work nights, but was told that I could call ANYTIME I wanted to check on her. The next morning, a technician called me to let me now how Eva did overnight and when I could come pick her up. When I arrived for discharge, follow up care and instructions were provided and explained to me in detail. I am most certainly impressed and would recommend these doctors as well as this facility to anyone and everyone!

My 7 year-old pug, Warren was ill and we were having difficulty in diagnosing him. The doctors, nurses and staff worked tirelessly to make Warren comfortable and to keep me informed. They were always available to answer my questions and provide comfort. Due to their efforts Warren was diagnosed, treated and is now back to his old self.

Kind, empathetic, timely

We drove over an hour to get there after my dear cat was attacked by three dogs. We called on the way and they met us at the door. They were up front but not pushy about the fees. The facilities and staff were very clean and welcoming. Most importantly, they were so helpful and kind. I ended up having to make the decision to euthanize my sweet kitty. They were so informative and genuinely understood how hard it was to do for me. I literally cannot think of anything to say that would accurately explain how uplifting my experience was despite the heartbreaking circumstances. I will never go anywhere else.

I'm the Executive Director of the largest breed rescue in the country, Small Paws® Rescue. I deal with hundreds of veterinarians all across the country each year.

I've used the emergency services of Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists both professionally for our rescue group, and for my own personal dogs, many, many times.

I've come to know all of the doctors there, as well as the vet techs and the girls who help you at the front desk.

I've never met more caring and compassionate people, anywhere.

I've seen the way they will stop everything in an emergency, treating my dogs as if they were people, taking every possible precaution to save their lives.

I've seen them RUNNING to get my Bichon, Chipper, on a ventilator, as he was turning blue due to a collapsing trachea over a year ago.

Time after time I've watched as they did what was needed to save my dogs lives.

Dr. Johnson and Dr. Wilkerson are both exceptional Emergency Room Veterinarians.

Last week, at the age of 15 years, 8 months, and 10 days, we had to say our last goodbye to my precious Chipper, due to kidney failure.

Dr. Hodges was there with us at the end, as an emergency during the day, and his kindness and compassion for both Chipper, and his Mom and Dad will never be forgotten.

I would never in a heartbeat hesitate to take any animal of mine to this hospital, where care and compassion are key.

I wouldn't tell you this if it weren't 100% true.
