I was interested in purchasing some beds and a dresser from the store. At checkout I had a bad experience with an employee so I decided not to go ahead with the entire purchase but I did layaway thinking I could change my mind later. I decide to buy from a different company but was not able to return my layaway items nor did I receive any store credit for the money I put down already. In order to change my layaway I would have lost all the money I put down and then repurchase the one item I intend to go forward with just so I DID NOT lose my deposit. If it was up to me I would have purchased nothing...and that is what I decided to do. I left the deposit there and purchased from another store thanks to the terrible customer service towards a repeat customer and an unwillingness to deal. When I asked for the owner or corporate address to send a complaint I was told the person I was speaking to was the highest my complaint would go. I did file a bbb complaint.

scam and rip off !

I had brought a nexus tv there for $100 .... Don't get me wrong the tv worked fine .... But i think I kept it for about a month then decided to upgrade the size of my tv ....so I took the tv back to resale it and they go we don't buy this type of brand tv lol glad I had kept my receipt ! I'm like I got the tv from here and then he changes his story to "we NO LONGER buy those brand tv" (SCAM) smh so then I did my research on the brand of the tv and it wasn't even worth the $100 they charged me !!!! (RIP OFF) I'm honestly telling you DONT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE RUDE AS HELL ! And have no common curiosity what so ever . I also brought a bed from there and they had missing pieces I ended up spending more money getting missing pieces, which they had already charged me $399 for the bed ! DO NOT GO THERE SERIOUSLY

This place is horrible.. i purchased a lum-nox watch.. i should have looked at it closer.. when i got to my car i was looking at it closer it turned out to be a china fake.. i went back the same day within an hour to see what they could do.. the owner was very rude and arrogant.. told me all sales are final.he doesnt sell fakes.. i had it sent off to lum-nox they confirmed my suspension... this wasnt my only experience he has been rude before at both stores on 24 and bell fork.. that will be the last time i go to that establishment.. my advice is to check all merchandise before purchase.. better yet just dont do business with them..

If only I could rate it lower

By far the worst experience I have ever had in a comic store. In truth it's really a very very overpriced pawn shop, customer service is horrible. Your better off driving to Wilmington.

Rude Staff

My husband and I have been in the store 1 time before about 6 months ago and remembered they had some interesting things. So we decided to stop in today looking for a desk. The first time we went in no one spoke to us or asked if we needed help. This time we were met outside the door by a young female and gretted with "What do you need?" We said we were looking for a desk, to which she replied "Well we are closed", walked inside and closed the door. I guess we were confused by their bright red flashing "OPEN" sign. Either way we will spend our money some where else.

Overall

I'd like to start by saying that I pawned off a bass of mine at a pawn shop in Wilmington about 8 years ago and got good money for it (a few hundred for a bass that was originally 4 hundred brand new). So recently I took some of my stuff to this place in Jacksonville thinking I would get a decent amount of money for items I could sell on the Internet separately totaling over 2 hundred I expected a fair deal of maybe a little over a hundred. Boy what a waste of time and money this place is to go to. Before arriving I took the time to check all of the stuff I brought to make sure it was all in working order etc. I get there and the guy "helping" people if you can call it that was the most obnoxious rude person I ever seen in any establishment. After asking how much I was expecting to get in a highly annoyed tone (as they are so proud to admit they always ask you first) I said a few hundred he said he isn't going to waste his time I said you asked and this is a lot of stuff he asked if I'm willing to go down a little I said sure. I also noticed as I was waiting to be helped by the way the price of a used weight set was 385 dollars!!! I will have all readers know I bought a used weight set out of the newspaper from a nice local man for 60 dollars and everything works. This set is less used than the one I bought for 60 dollars but in the end they are both used and the one I bought works and I'm sure all readers already know 385 is a huge jump from 60. Anyway this fat annoyed clown who apologized for being rude because he isn't a morning person (neither am I that's no excuse to be obnoxious at work to customers) so this guy offers me 25 dollars with a straight face and he didn't look at half of my stuff at all if you aren't interested in books for example why ask me to bring them in at all if you won't even look at them? I couldn't believe my ears but at the time I was in a bind because I needed gas to get home so I agreed to his robbery. After that I was fingerprinted? Is this something new because its insane to fingerprint the person you are robbing in the planet I'm from robbers get fingerprinted not the other way around. Anyway I'm glad I can exercise my free speech and let everyone know what a horrid place this is to go to for any seller or buyer because sellers obviously get ripped off and buyers are getting ripped off if they want you to pay 385 dollars for a weight set that you can imagine how bad they ripped the guy off who sold it to them in the first place. Everyone reading take my advice after coming to this place I learned my lesson and I am done going to any pawn shops for anything I highly recommend every American eliminate the middle man because the middle man only stays in business by ripping people off there are a lot of good honest sellers in the papers in yard sales and online buyers would do very well to work with them and never work through any pawn shop ever. This is a true story and I will have readers know hat this establishment has the Gaul to put "we pay more than everyone" on the side of their trucks!!. In closing I don't think anyone who makes their living by ripping buyers and sellers off like these people are fit to be in the company of a decent human being.

If you are shopping for any appliances, I would recommend any of the appliance repair shops that will at least guarantee the item you purchase works when you get it home. I purchased a front load washer from them. I was assured at time of purchase that it had been op checked and functioned properly. I took it home and hooked it up. All functions worked except the washing drum wouldn't rotate. I called the shop the next morning and was told,"... all sales are final." Two days later, I took off work and brought the washer back to the store. I explained the dilema and was reminded again that all sales are final. I asked to speak to a manager or the owner. After several delay tactics by the man at the counter, I left my name and number for the owner to contact me. I returned to the store with some unflattering, but true statements posted to the side of the washer. One of the employees did ask if he could help and offered to look at the washer. His troubleshooting was limited to asking if the door lock was functioning properly. It is. I was then asked to leave the property. I parked across the street to wait for the owner to contact me. Shortly after, the local police department paid me a visit. After a pleasant conversation with Jacksonville's finest, I was informed that anything else regarding the washing machine would be a civil matter.

I don't ask for much, but I do expect that if I buy an item, that it function properly at least once. Save your time, and your money. Shop somewhere else.

If the owner or management reads this, you have my number.

I've been in every store in j-ville, and I love this place. Yes they need major help in the customer service department, but its a bargain store in j-ville. I bought two not for sale items from the owner and was very pleased with the quickness of the response and after some research, the fact that I wasen't over charged. Plus I spent 8 bucks on 3 DVDs, no issues.

I love supporting local businesses, but not this one. I would not recommend going to this shop to buy or sell any video games. If you want to sell, they will give you nothing for your items. If you have a rare game, they won't tell you. They will happily give you a dollar and turn around and sell it for 50. The customer service is atrocious. The manager is very rude and incompetent. His items are filthy and the prices are outrageous. I have no idea how he stays in business. Everything he has you can find for way cheaper on the internet. Stay away at all costs!

In our stores when something is brought in to be sold the first question that is always asked "how much are you looking to get for your items" then items are looked at and if we feel the items are worth what the person has asked for them than we buy them or we make a counter offer. Nobody is forced to sell their items they always have the choose to say no to any counter offer made and we understand if they choose to no sell with no hard feelings.
