I've eaten here so many times. This restaurant is where I go when I want to be satisfied with dinner and dessert. I always start out with a full meat and cheese plate. I choose 5 cheeses and meats from their daily selection. The only meat that is always on the menu is the chorizo and it's tasty! Their cheese and meat plates always come with truffle honey, mini dill pickles, dried fruit (variety), house made fig jam, course ground mustard, crustinis and pickled pearl onions. It's a delicious starter. Another appetizer I love is their Gambas al Ajilla (shrimp, garlic and chili). The shrimps are large in a garlic chili sauce. The sauce is rich and savory, we always ask for more bread to dip in the excess sauce. I've had a lot on their menu: HOUSE-MADE FETTUCCINI V - tomato cream sauce, fresh basil HOUSE-MADE RAVIOLI V herbed ricotta ravioli, eggplant caponata, smoked eggplant puree, ricotta salata, pine nuts-I added scallops ORECCHIETTE-I had it when they had a thai basil sauce SALMON - braised lentils, bacon, pearl onions, parsnip puree Grilled Hanger steak with truffle fries Monk fish over chorizo kale House Made sweet potato pasta with duck confit and mandarin oranges They had a pizza one time with lamb sausage and feta cheese I've enjoyed everything I've ever had here. The Taverna prepares their scallops to perfection. I would highly recommend trying them if you're a scallop lover. I always get their sorbets and/or gelatos for dessert. You can pick three and choose them to your liking. They are all house made. My favorite is their mint chocolate chip. The fresh mint is invigorating, it's fresh and simple on the palate. I've never had mint ice cream with the TRUE flavor of the herb so prominent. I would highly recommend the Taverna!
This location does tend to nickel and dime you more than others. Wings don't even come with a ranch or blue cheese! You have to pay $0.50 or so just to get ONE! Extra cheese, on ANY pizza, is $2.00 more. Unfortunately, I feel obligated to pay that $2.00 extra for the cheese, because they are often scant with toppings. As far as the service is concerned, I have always had acceptable service from this location. It's never been anything spectacular, but I have no complaints in that area. The driver's are nice enough, and I've only spoken to someone on the phone once (fan of online ordering). All in all... I'm satisfied enough with this location that I continue to order.... every once and again. If they'd step up their game I'd order a lot more. AS A SIDE NOTE TO ANYONE WHO THINKS A DELIVERY FEE IS A TIP: IT IS NOT! Whatever you may incur as a delivery fee, I assure you, does not, in full, go to the driver. Out of a $2.50 delivery fee, the driver MAY recieve around a dollar of that... depending on which chain he/she delivers for. If you think that a dollar or less is enough gratuity to a person who gets paid less than minimum wage (they do work for TIPS... like WAITERS OR WAITRESSES) and drives a vehicle that THEY PAY to fuel and maintain.... then you should drive your own car and PICK YOUR PIZZA UP! A delivery driver deserves every per cent in gratuity that a waiter or waitress would receive at a restaraunt. They may not wait hand and foot on you... but they do drive their cars to your home becuase you didn't feel like going out. Oil changes, tires, brakes, and fuel are not cheap. Not to mention... if you're a poor tipper... they WILL remember you.
Your greeted with a friendly smile as soon as you walk in the door. The first person who greeted me was Aimee and she took care of my order/request quite promptly, so that she forgot to enter my coupon for my son's free meal. I came back to correct her after I noticed and she, without hesitating, apologized and without any further confrontations corrected her mistake and refunded me the money. Any other place you usually go through a hassle and headache of proving the mistake to get your money back, but here she corrected it within less than one minute! I was impressed. Not to mention, the Cook/Pizza Maker, Steve, is so friendly and very detailed oriented when it comes to making a specific pizza that you request, all the way down to the sauce (ie zesty or traditional?). He made me feel like this decision was important to him as well as myself. Its a comfortable atmosphere, but can get busy during peak hours. When a pizza comes out hot from the oven, they call it out loud, "Cheese Pizza!" to so that you know right then and there its fresh and ready. Over all, I would definitely recommend this CiCi's Pizza over all the rest. They will make you feel like your at home (surrounded by family and friends who care). Their customer friendly staff makes you feel like they care! Because they do! Thanks for the great time! I will be there again soon! Heather C.
A friendly family owned establishment with a good understanding of how to make pizza. The "Party of 4"+1 ordered two pizza's, a pepperoni and the "special". After phoning in our order and driving to pick it up, we walked into this establishment and greeted without hesitation. While waiting for our order we observed two lunches coming out of the kitchen and was quite impressed with the quantity being served, as were the customers. Our pizza's were made and the order complete in the 20 minutes we were told. Both pizza's were delivered hot. Everyone liked the appearance of both pizza's and after several minutes of eating, there were many positive comments of the crust. Although the amount of toppings were what you would normally see on a 16" pizza, there were above average marks for the quality of the sausage. The health violations a year ago was 11, most currently 12 total violations as of January 2008 with only 7 of those being critical. Both pizza's were fairly priced for the quantity and quality served. Our average analysis was a 7
I am from up North where we are known for excellent restaurants (not chain) and the best pizza. Picasso has not once disappointed. This place is always busy-- bc of repeat biz especially and word of mouth biz. Desserts are homemade by chefs mom . Cheesecake is to die for and ooey gooey butter cake is also a favorite. Don't just go for the pizza and desserts- try the blackboard specials. They serve fresh delicious seafood dishes, homemade pasta and their signature Italian salad is the real deal. Hands down- this is our favorite. We pass A handful of pizza places on the way to picassos as we live in flemjng island - picassos is located in mandarin. We have been going to picassos for 5 plus years . If you want a really good pizza try picassos . If you want excellent food in a very casual setting.. You've got to visit picassos ! Signed, foodie from the North
I submitted an order over the phone as opposed to online and had the pleasure of dealing with Victoria. She was extremely efficient and very personable making her easy to talk to. We had to go through a session of computer glitches but I did not mind a bit as she was that friendly and intent on getting my order correct and on it's way, a very comforting feeling to have while placing a phone order for delivery. Due to a mix up in delivery vs. pickup I then spoke with Jackie, whom I believe was a manager. Wow, same result, extremely professional and super friendly, accommodating but more importantly customer satisfaction focused. The food delivery was quick and food was great, pizza off the chain. I am so fortunate to have a class act Pizza Hut in my neighborhood.
This is my favorite pizza in Jacksonville! Originally from N.E. Pennsylvania, I've lived in Jacsonville since 19966. I'm often disappointed in the pizza. This pizza, however, rivals anything from the northeast. It has a thin crust, slightly crisp and a bit chewy, but not overly so. They do it to a turn. Their sauce is excellent. Well seasoned and they have a great selection of quality toppings. My favorite is just a one topping onion pie. The 3 restaurants are clean, tastefully appointed and the service is good. This is not your mass produce pizza like the chains. There's no comparison. Its similar to Al's pizza, but beats it hands down. The crust is lighter and has a better texture. I think everyone should try this place!
I stopped in thinking I could sit have coffee maybe pie and play on my laptop. Guess what no free Wi-Fi at least I dont think so. Instead I found a huge room filled with cubicals it reminded me at first of a customer service call center. However this was no call center. ******THIS PLACE IS SO AWESOME****** Every cubical has it's own brand new 19" or bigger flat panel monitor. The whole place has been redone from whatever was there before. The place smells brand new. The ladies behind the register were so nice. They didn't make me feel pressured or like I was stupid for not knowing what an "Internet Cafe" was. I had a ball and will be going back the next chance I get. Heather
I've had pizza from Fairbanks to Homestead, hack, I even tried pizza in Africa. Needless to say I like pizza, but the very best pizza I have had is Tony D's. The resturant is immaculate, family frindley and the service superb. Eat in or take out, I like to eat in to take advantage if that pizza aroma. The Supreme is my favorate but my wife prefers Cheese, what ever it's all good. Hey, if you are by there in the morning, try their breakfast and coffee, you"ll enjoy. My only complaint, I only get to visit 3 or 4 times a year, it's a 500 mile trip one way to get pizza.
We love Vinos! Just moved here from Greenville, South Carolina and just happened to see the restaurant on San Jose and dropped in for dinner. Very, very quaint and great atmosphere. We just happened to come in on a Wednesday evening and they had Happy Hour which was very, very reasonable, and liked that a lot! The food was great, service could have been a touch better, but five star on food! We also had them deliver a pizza to our new house this weekend and it was delicious. I recommend Vinos to everyone!
