Dear patient, I am posting this message to let you know how sorry we are to hear of your experience at our office. Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your visit. It is through input like yours that we learn and have the opportunity to evaluate what we do...more, and how we do it. Firstly, I would point out that in the many years of performing ultrasounds here, this is the first time any patient has indicated any concern over having the sonographer present. This is not to say that patients do not ask the sonographer to leave, but I believe it is the first time I have heard a complaint. That being said, I believe you are correct, and it is not appropriate to expect patients to change in the presence of another person. Therefore, we are evaluating solutions to the problem. In the meantime, the team of sonographers who work here have been retrained to be considerate of patients privacy. With regards to the waiting room, we often invite our patients to leave a urine sample while they are in the waiting room, awaiting their appointment with the provider. This just saves a little time in the grand scheme of things and puts the waiting time to good use. Subsequent to the ultrasound appointment, we routinely check with the medical assistants to determine whether the Doctor is ready to bring you back, which in 90% of the time, is the case. During your appointment with the sonographer, your Doctor was finishing up with other patients and there were no free examination rooms to take you to. Typically we find our patients prefer to wait in the waiting room, rather than in the examination rooms. As to some of the terminology that is presented to you via the patient portal, we find that a great deal of the coding jargon utilized is inconclusive and misleading to patients since many of the codes and their descriptions are used for a vast array of different symptoms. We are hopeful with the introduction of ICD-10, this will improve as the new system in vastly superior in its’ ability to pinpoint diagnosis. With the advent of patients having the opportunity to review the medical record in our portal, we have found that many of our patients are confused and sometimes concerned by some of the terminology used and required by insurance companies. This process coupled with the mechanism with which the electronic medical records documents, mean that often, the language is not easy to follow. There are many aspects to proper documentation in the medical record and often we need to combine different areas of information to build the complete picture. It is unfortunate you could not have communicated your concerns directly to our office, prior to writing your blog. I believe given the opportunity to discuss this with us, you would have a much better understanding of what we do, and how much we care about every patient and their health. We are sorry to lose you as a patient but hope you are able to find a practice that is a better fit. Kind regards Brian Thorn C.E.O. FABEN view less
Everything from the beginning to the end was very professional. The whole staff was definitely a help by putting my mind at ease.
I came from Alabama & I am diabetic so I have to have a doctor where ever I live. Dr Jeff Jacqmein was highly recommended by a nurse at the Trial Study place on University. I had been in several study programs in Alabama & thought I would try a few in Florida while I wa...mores living there. I can't remember the nurse's name, but I am so glad she referred me to Dr Jacqmein. He is the nicest doctor. He spends time with you & listens to what you have to say about your problems. He discusses your problems with you to find a solution to the problem. He makes sure you get your lab work done and then discusses your results to your satisfaction. He will give you more than 1 solution to your problem if you insist on another way of treatment. In my case, he wanted to give me a script for cholestrol, but I wanted to do it naturally on vitamins & herbs & he referred me to some I didn't know about that lowered my cholestrol as well. I think very highly of Dr Jacqmein & also of his very qualified staff. Everyone is friendly everytime I go in for whatever. They also give flu & pneumonia shots, which some doctors do not give. I highly recommend Dr Jacqmein's office & it is very convenient to the South side of Jacksonville. view less
I was referred to Dr. Jacqmein by a co-worker who said "He's a real good doctor that actually listens to you." Well, that certainly got my attention. A recent trip to my urologist had determined that I was diabetic, so I began researching the condition and discover...moreed that you don't have to be diabetic if you don't want to be, and also that most Dr.'s would rather just put you on pills or shots while you slowly spiral downhill. When Dr. Jacqmein met me and discovered that I had absolutely no intention of going that route, He helped me lose weight, and understand what was going on in my body at a cellular and molecular level and what was causing me to become diabetic. He advised me on specific vitamin and mineral supplements and excersize requirements, but most of all WHY certain things did what they did in and to your body. I have lost 45lbs., my blood sugar is back where it's supposed to be, and my chloresteral is lower than it's been in 25 years. I am physically stronger and have more energy than I have had in 15 years. I'm a 52 year old man, and I feel like I got my life back- Thank you Dr. Jeffview less
