Becking Clinic

When I first went to Dr, Becking I could not walk without pain. Setting even hurt. I have been to our family GP and physical theropy which did not work. After only two weeks of visits (six total) I was feeling much better and now I have very little pain in my back unless I over do it, then the pain goes away after only a couple of days. Dr, Becking was a life saver for me.

A Rhemotoligst told me there was nothing he could do for me. My general practitioner did what he could with a steady diet of pain killers and muscle relaxers. My Neurosurgeon, Dr Gibbs has been working with me to control my chronic pain, avoid surgery and improve the quality of my life. After several years of a steady diet of pain killers, physical therapy and the standard treatments we decided to work out of the box. Chronic pain was robbing me of my life. The medication controlled the pain, but the side effects also disabled me. Two amazing things have happened. The first is that Dr Gibbs sent me to Dr Cleaver in Cape. He is a Pain Management Specialist. He introduced me to Medtronics Pain Pump which allowed me to get considerable more relief from 1/100 the pain medication. I was getting out of my recliner and getting my life back. I still had pain but overall quality of life had improved. As I became more active the arthritis and injuries to my back would cause massive muscle spasms, cramping, discs rotating and constant problems with my SI Joint (Sacroiliac Joint). At times I would have to revert to a cane or walker to get around. I was sent to months of physical therapy sessions. I would recover and then repeat the injury. With a heavy heart I had decided to see Dr Gibbs for a surgical solution. As a last resort to avoid surgery Dr Gibbs told me about Dr Becking. I was shocked, previous Physicians had told me to avoid Chiropractor's. My faith in Dr Gibbs led me to make an appointment with Dr Becking. In our first meeting he was very honest with me. He told me that the deterioration and injuries to my spine were some of the most significant he has seen. There was a possibility he may not be able to help me. However, he said he believed in what he does and there was a chance he could help relieve some of the symptoms I was experiencing. My thoughts were that if he could improve my pain by 10% it would be well worth the effort. I had nothing to lose, but everything to gain. We agreed on a short term treatment plan as a trial. We would then review my case. I have three significantly painful injuries to my spine in addiction to the advanced arthritis. When I first saw Dr Becking it was painful for anyone to work on those areas. On my first my SI joint was out of alignment and very painful. This would normally take 4 to 6 painful visits with a physical therapist to remedy. Dr Becking had it aligned in minutes providing instant relief. He worked on the other areas every visit and with each alignment I noticed improvement. For the first time in 9 years the pain in those areas was diminishing. Because of the condition of my back I will never be "normal". I had hoped to reduce my pain by 10% and regain some movement in my neck and back. Dr Becking's alignments exceeded my expectations the first week, by the end of our "trial" period I knew he was helping me beyond my expectations. I also noted some unexpected benefits from seeing him. For years I have suffered from severe cramping in my legs and hands, I have not had a cramp since the first week of alignments. My pain medication has kept me constipated for years, this is no longer a problem. I have ventured away from my recliner and am again enjoying life. This journey has been one of my life's great lessons. Don't become complacent, don't believe a Doctor that says "There is nothing I can do for you", take control of your health. Don't be afraid to step outside of "standard medical treatments". Have realistic expectations,you may never be as good as new, but believe me any reduction in pain is GOOD! And every little step forward gives you back a piece of your life. Dr Becking has won me over, he has done more for me without medication than 10 years of treatment by the standard medical community.
