Feed Barn The

I'm new to the area and have a 4 month old puppy. I decided to go into the feed barn with her after her vaccines were finished so I could socialize her. I also have horses and thought this would be a great opportunity to go in there and check it out. When I walked in there I wasn't greeted by any of the staff behind the counter, nor was I greeted or asked if I needed any help by the staff walking around. After I looked at everything and realized I wouldn't be acknowledged I decided to leave. As I was walking out to my car one of the employees followed me outside and watched me get into my car. Never have I felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable in a feed store. It's very unfortunate because I really loved their products and feed they had to offer but I will not be returning there for any future purchases.

The customer service is excellent. I have had nothing but good service when I have gone there and everyone is very friendly. A thumb's up to everyone.

This store is nicely laid out and appears to be well stocked; however, I think they can make some improvements with their staff. While I have had some good experiences here, this afternoon I called in to check on their kitten adoptions for my kids and was disappointed with their service. I was planning on driving 30 minutes to adopt a kitty and the girl that answered the phone couldn't provide me with any information. Finally, when I asked her to actually go over to the area and let me know how many kittens were available, I could tell it was painful for her to leave the empty counter and walk the 50 feet over to the kitties to tell me how many were available. Is it too much to ask them to do their job? They need to do a better job of hiring and training their employees to be more helpful and friendly.

I have had too many bad experiences at The Feed Barn. They don't welcome you , they don't ask if you need help, they don't have much knowledge, they give you the wrong feed, they don't lead you to the products........they kind of point in the general direction. I don't get it, it's not like they are busy.....except for socializing behind the counter. I counted 7 employees/manager in the store last time I wasn't offered any help. I had to walk by two of them chatting in one of the isles! Save your money and go to Sheldon Feed in Elk Grove. They are consistently less expensive. They are helpful, friendly and have answers. These are things you WILL NOT get at the Feed Barn.

They are trying to be like a big chain store. The people are not very friendly or helpful. still better than the new Petco. I prefer the smaller pets store in town, Jackson, CA
