The Flat Iron Grill is best described as a Northwest steak & seafood house with South American influences. You'll find savory flavors and cured meats, plus fresh, local seafood, homemade breads, and sweet treats to finish off your meal. The main dining area features red ceilings, warm coffee-colored walls, and wheat-colored draperies that open to expose a large deck for outdoor dining in the warmer months. The bar features independent tables, a brick wall above the bar, and palomino-print bench seating. Exposed wood framing, open wine racks, and black-and-white photography help create a sense of comfort that will welcome you and invite you back. Husband and wife team, Sean Quinn and Barb Pexa, are the proprietors of Flat Iron Grill. They met while working at a restaurant and discovered they shared the same vision. This is their first joint endeavor, yet they aren't without vast experience. With more than 25 years in the restaurant business, Sean worked as the Executive Chef at Daniels Broiler in Bellevue and El Gaucho in Tacoma from 1991 to 2004. In 2004, he helped create Asado, an Argentine steakhouse voted "Best New Restaurant" by The Tacoma News Tribune. He and his partners then opened Masa, a modern Mexican restaurant. In the last two years, he created and has been the general manager of Maxwell's in Tacoma.
It was great dining in at Flat Iron Grill
This is our default restaurant for a date night. Nice wine list, great appetizers (the Figlets are to die for), food is always presented nicely, and service is top notch. Plus it isn’t a 20+ minute ride into Seattle. I recommend reservations and on a nice evening chose the outdoor patio.
My husband and I have been here for both lunch and dinner and the food is great. Very different menu, fun to try different things with a South American flavour. The atmosphere is also nice, you can sit outside on a nice day.
The food was great and Tim our server was a real sweetheart. I agree - the place is a bit hidden, but the upside is that it's surrounded by some cool businesses.
Great wine list. Sweet server. Our food was really good and I rarely say that. Beet salad: best I've had in a long time. This is top end food in a nice environment without being "stuffy"
But I love Issaquah for that very reason...
The food is wonderful and the employees are attentive and friendly.... location is just kind of funky....
