Angelo's is so good that I have been going there forever---even before it was at it's present location. The lasagne and pizza have been calling me back long enough for one of the waitresses to have a kid and now be a grandmother by that kid. What can I say to entice your to try Angelo's--maybe I'd rather not so it won't be so busy with a line everytime I go there. They are friendly. They greet you with a smile and seat you as fast as possible. The service is quick. If you order a to-go order to take home after you've finished eating, it's ready at the check-out for you and it's HOT. The place is comfy/cozy/homey--a place that you can go wearing anything from cutoffs to prom dresses and tuxes. I have seen both there. I'm picky about my lasagne and theirs is great - either by its self or with mushrooms or double cheese or sausage or whatever. My husband likes the lucheon steak and spaghetti. My eldest orders a large pizza and refuses to share even when he has to take some home because he can't finish it at the restaurant. My youngest goes for the chicken alfredo and we don't get to have any of his either. Like I said Angelo's is unbelievably good and worth the very very reasonable cost!

The waitstaff here is magnificent and attentive. I've gone there on several occasions to study for tests or work on freelance writing assignments and it's almost as good as studying in the spare room at Grandma's house. Most recently my server, Connie, plied me with sweet tea, kept the wheat buns coming, sent me home with an extra roll, and knew when to check in on me and when to leave me be. I felt well-taken care of and comfortable. Of course, on a busy Sunday this might not be the ideal place to take up a table for a few hours but on a weekday, there's no better hangout for getting some work done and enjoying a nice plate of comfort food. Did you know they whip the butter for an hour to get it so nice and creamy? I really love the good folks at the Black-eyed Pea. Remember to tip them well!
Pet Peeves first: it's 12:30, lunch time, and they are out of iced tea and syrup has dried up at the fountain. At 1pm nothing had changed. PLUS they only have Sporks: feel like I'm in kindergarten. I ordered the three-meat platter, with fried okra (very plump and tasty) and Mac-n-Cheese (so little cheese your lactose intolerant aunt would be safe eating it). Pulled Pork: not a lot of flavor, so sauced it for help. Sliced Brisket: no smoke flavor but it was cooked well. Sauce helped it. Ribs: very nice, smokey, tasty, flavorful. No sauce needed for these babies. I'd come back for these and the okra.
