I called to get a replacement pair of soft contacts as the last pair I had got mixed up with an even older pair (long story). I had gone to Dr. Tylock's office for years and I explained my story. They happily provided me with a replacement pair and made an appointment for an exam for two weeks later. When I showed up today (I live 45 minutes away now), I had to wait 35 minutes to get called back. The technician immediately asked me if I was there for an examine for contacts. I said yes as that was the entire reason for my visit. There was no mistake as to why I made the appointment with the lady who answered the phone and the technician who helped me get the replacement contacts to hold me over until my appointment. He tells me they no longer do contact exams as they are too time consuming. Long story short, I was brushed off with a very half- hearted apology and sent out the door having over 2 hours of my time wasted with 90 minutes of that spend driving to and from the office. Bottom line is this: Do not even call this clinic if you are not interested in eye surgery. The are not interested in you in the least. I suspected this for years and now it has been confirmed. This office is in it for the money that Lasik and the other eye surgery procedures have to offer. UPDATE: About two weeks after I posted my initial review, I got a call from someone at Dr. Tylock's office (office manager maybe, I didn't catch that). She said she was aware of my recent visit and bad experience with trying to get an eye exam for contacts. She apologized on behalf of Dr. Tylock for my treatment. She stated that I had been Dr. Tylock's client for over 14 years, and I should have received my exam as always (even though they do not fit for contacts anymore with new clients). She offered to compensate me for my lost time and dissatisfaction, acknowledging that my time is valuable. I told her that it was not necessary to do that. I just wanted to make sure that the people involved in the incident were aware of the way I felt when I left the office. I also wanted them to make it clear to new (and potentially to existing clients as well because I'm still not clear exactly what their policy is) that they no longer do contact exams so that no one else wastes time or experiences frustration. I gave them an extra star for putting forth the effort to give me a call to make amends. I don't believe I would not received an apology call if I hadn't written this online review. But then I guess Dr. Tylock and his office manager would not have been aware of what happened to me during my visit.
Dr. Tylock and his staff are the BEST you can get in LASER/PRK surgery! Very proficient, professional, attentive staff, especially considering that they have people coming and going constantly. Dr. Tylock has been doing this surgery for over 20 years and has been TEACHING the LASER/PRK surgery at Southwest Medical Center in Dallas also for over 20 years! His SUCCESS RATE IS 100%!!! I cannot stress enough that 100% is what you want when it comes to your eyes! I HIGHLY recommend him!
From start to finish, everyone was fantastic! They were thorough and concerned about the patient the entire time instead of trying to sell someone something. The surgical procedure went very good and they did a follow-up process to make sure I was satisfied! They were great!
