Apple Store

I made an appt. at this location because I was having problems with my iPhone 4. I had it a year & 1/2 & the home button only works 50% of the time. It was about at this point my iPhone 3 gave out too. Anyway, I went in & I told a greeter I had an appt. & he asked why & when I told him, he asked me if I had backed up my phone because it'll need to be replaced. I said no so he tried to back up some of my info on iCloud but there wasn't enough space so he shut it down. In the process, deleting all of my calendar reminders, which were a lot! I told the "genius squad" rep what happened & she apologized & told me I had to go home, back up my info & return, which is a good 20 miles away. She said she'd make a note in the system so they wouldn't give me a hard time about replacing my phone because the 1 yr. warranty had expired. So, I went home & realized I didn't know how to back up my info on my phone so I called Apple told them the situation & the guy on the phone told me they were going to charge me because the warranty had expired. I got irate so he said he'll give me a 1 time exception. It was literally a 1-2 clicks of a button to back up my phone & he tried to charge me $30. So, I went back to my appt. a few days later, 20 miles away & they had the appt time down wrong & didn't have a record of what occurred on my previous visit. They did not replace my phone despite how nice I was considering the circumstances & said they'd give me another one for $150, when the iPhone 4S is out & the iPhone 5 will be released in a month. I asked to speak with a manager & the assoc. went into the back room & came out with no manager. I NEVER write reviews unless they're good but in this case I have to make an exception.. I told him he just lost a customer & he could care less. I told them bad products & word of mouth will bring them down eventually but it was not his loss so he let it go. So, the Droid Razr Maxx it is. If you insist on using Apple, do not go to this store if you can avoid it! If you do buy an iPhone, get the extended warranty because you're going to need it!
