I all my years of visting the museum never was once disappointed. Great exhibits and great teaching/learning environment for kids. Definitely recommend to anyone individual or single. But, if taking children visit children areas/exhibits last.

You really need more than one day to see it all. IF you have to choose, skip the theatre and enjoy both museums. If you have small kids, make sure and visit the children's are downstairs BUT go there last or you will never get them out to see the "less exciting for them" displays upstairs. The old train traffic control booth is open some days ~ a must if you appreciate history. Difficult to get to as you climb narrow stairs but worth the visit. Awesome view of the tracks and trains in the back of the station.
